11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Stitch marker swap? on: April 16, 2009 09:07:52 AM
Anyone want to swap handmade stitch markers?  I've seen a ton of cute ones done so many different ways.  Would you prefer to send to a single partner or multiple?
12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pot holder swap on: April 13, 2009 09:22:05 AM
I'm sick and miserable and have done nothing but thumb through crafty books my husband picked up at the library for me.  One that I've really enjoyed is Pretty Little Potholders.  It just screams SWAP to me.  They (the square or round ones, not the mits really) fit nicely into a paded envelope and I think most people could use stuff out of thier stash, so this would be a really inexpensive swap.

How does doing groups of 4 or 5 sound?  My idea is that it would be fun to get 4 different pot holders.  So we could do groups of 4 if people wanted to make one for themselves (make total of 4) or groups of 5 if you wanted to receive 4 different ones in the mail and not make one for yourself (still only making 4).  I can't organize this swap though, because I'm looking at organizing another (my first attempt at organizing) once I get feedback for my current swaps.
13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Steampunk Crow Quilted Bag on: April 12, 2009 01:27:50 PM
I had a whole day to just play around in my crafting room with no interruptions.  Yay for me!!!  This is one of the projects that came of it.  It's a steampunk type crow bag that I quilted.  This bag is all a part of my masterplan to have a wall of WIP bags.  That way when I'm headed out to swim lessons or whatever I've got something productive to do while I wait.

Close up of the bag itself...

Bag with the handles, that are also quilted...

It's got a little metal circle with a star in it for the crows eye.
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Embellished Zippered Pouch Swap on: April 08, 2009 08:16:55 PM
I was reading through some older swaps and was wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping embellished zippered pouches?  The previous swap was done in groups of 3.  You make 3 pouches, all of them the same or each different, it's up to you.  Mail them to your partners in a regular envelope, this is the budget friendly part.  Then receive 3 completely different ones in return.  The embellishing is pretty key here, so be sure you're up for that.

Since we would be shipping in a regular card sized envelope, I think it should be required that everyone be willing to ship overseas/out-of-country.  I've never organized a swap here before, so if anyone wants to organize that would be great.  If no ones up for it, and everyone's willing to bear with me I could organize.
15  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / I-Spy Cowboy's on: January 22, 2009 05:40:34 PM
My brother & his wife had a baby boy a couple of months ago.  The theme for his room was cowboy's. I've made all of their 5 boys I-Spy quilts.  They make great baby play mats and are great on long trips.  My girls spied the heck out of theirs.  Even I use them when I go on the airlines.  It's nice to have my own cootie-free blanket when I'm on a trip.  Hope you enjoy it.
