1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First Time Knitter!!! Very excited!! on: March 22, 2010 02:18:01 PM
I just learned how to knit on Wednesday night, after buying a stitch n bitch book. Now it's Monday (5 days later!) and I have completed a scarf and 2 dish towels! I don't really know how to read patterns yet, but I'm still really excited!

On the scarf, you can see the big error I made. It left a hole Sad I'm going to the Salvation Army tomorrow to find a brooch to put over it!

And my dish rags. I made them for my Grandma's 70th Birthday this Saturday. Her kitchen is in red, white and blue. Luckily, Sugars n Cream makes a red white blue 100% cotton on clearance for 99 cents at Michael's!

I took a close up picture of the stitch. What's it called? Just a "regular stitch"?

Comments and Criticism welcome!
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Now you can ride your bike safely and fashionably! on: July 22, 2009 08:49:04 AM
I hope I put this is the right area...since I couldn't find an area dedicated to electronics. I know that riding your bike with a light attached to it is kind of dorky..so I came up with a new idea inspired by monkeylectric.com.

Everything used for making my LED spoke lights can be purchased from your local RadioShack! I purchased 3 colors of LEDs, Capacitors, Solder, Soldering Iron, PC board, 9V battery, Toggle switch, battery holder, 18g wire...i think that was it. If you want to see the schematic I can post that as well.

On to the picture! When I ride my bike it just looks like a swirl of colors on my front spokes. I have a switch so I can turn it on and off instead of having to take out the battery! The picture is crappy because it was taken with my macbook. I'll try to have my husband get a night time action shot if you want! Thanks!

C&C welcome. I hope this is a good first project post!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / BOB DYLAN SWAP!!!! on: March 18, 2009 08:05:39 PM
I'm not sure if there has been a Bob Dylan swap or not... but I found "new swap ideas" from 2007 and 2008. I'm a huge Bob Dylan fan and I would love to have some great things I am unable to make myself. I'm new to craftster and I haven't swapped before..so i think someone will have to organize it for me. If anyone can volunteer...I'll help you any way i can!!
