1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dress help needed! on: July 25, 2010 06:13:29 AM
Okay so I recently found a dress at Le Chateau that I am in LOVE with...but entirely can't afford. Stupid school...

Anyways I was hoping to make it, or at least something similar, and was hoping that someone could give me some guidance or suggestions? Mostly I'm wondering what kind of fabric would be easiest and still formal, how best to go about the ruching, and how to do the neckline...any help would be SO appreciated!!

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Moleskine guidance! on: October 07, 2009 10:10:13 AM
Hey,

I don't know if this is the right place for this--sorry if its not. I have a question about Moleskine, and I was hoping someone could help me!! I am drawing the members of my fav band in my Moleskine (plain paper, regular size) and I am planning on getting them to sign it this winter. My question is this: most bands sign with sharpie. Will this bleed too much? I am debating bringing another pen for them, but I'd feel like a jerk making them use it lol...

Anyone have any experience with sharpie in Moleskine? thanks!!!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Laptop / School Bag! [kinda image heavy] on: November 17, 2008 09:23:07 PM
I'm relatively new here....been watching for a while, figured I'd contribute something.

Hooray for my first completed project!! I take my laptop to school with me every day, and I had been using a normal messenger bag for carrying it around, but I got sick of how easily it got banged around in there. So, since I couldn't find a laptop bag ANYwhere that I liked, I decided to make my own. It took me two months to get around to finishing it (procrastination....) but its the first thing of mine that I've legitimately finished and been proud of, in the sewing department. So, needless to say, I'm pretty proud.

Anyways, here it is:

i love the pink inside. i might add a button to that smaller pocket to help hold it shut, but for now its cooperating fine

in laptop-holding action

you can see the fur on the inside of the laptop pocket best in this one. its also got about an inch of padding all the way around it, to save it being banged up.

i recycled some clips from an old backpack to hold it shut, and the strap is just a modified guitar strap

so thats that. it makes me so happy to have a nice safe laptop! i'd love to hear what you think!
