1  And another 52 reasons book in Valentine's Day by ladypenelope on: January 27, 2009 09:43:36 AM
Not the most original idea on the planet, but there we are.

I used Wales playing cards because my boyfriend is welsh and I'm at university in Wales. I also didn't want to cover up too much of the detail on the card, as my boyfriend collects playing cards. I wanted them to still look like playing cards.

Here's the finished product:

2  Seed Bead Loop Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ladypenelope on: January 26, 2009 08:27:37 AM
I made my first piece of jewellery! I feel very proud of myself, even though it was majorly simple.

I used this tutorial here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10574.0
I adapted it slightly by using six beads instead of 12, and using all seed beads instead of some larger ones and made a bracelet instead of a necklace.

Here it is on my wrist:

Here's a close up of the clasp I used:

Here's the bracelet laid out flat:

Sorry about the glare on these pictures, the lighting in my room is bad! Also the 'black' beads are more oil coloured than they look here.

Comments? Criticism? Go easy, this a first attempt  Cheesy

3  My first try at customising shoes in Shoes: Completed Projects by ladypenelope on: January 21, 2009 11:06:39 AM
I've been lurking on the boards for a while, delighting in the gorgeous things some of you create. I fell in love with the work people do to their Chucks, writing all over them and drawing cute designs. I couldn't bring myself to graffiti my own Chucks (I love and adore my Converse in an unhealthy manner), so went out and bought these:

Then I attacked them with Sharpies. Here's the after pictures:

Sorry for all the links, I'm still too new to post pictures.

Comments? Criticism? The Sharpie did bleed a bit, but over all I'm pleased with them.

I want to seal them somehow so I can wear them outdoors. Would the Sharpie hold up to Welsh weather or do they need something extra? What does everyone else use?
