Here is an update on my scarf.  I started it the other day when I got my Lavold Silky Wool.  I had three false starts(thanks to various distractions), but finally got my groove on.  This is 10 repeats.  I'm hoping to get a bunch done over the weekend, if I can hide somewhere.

Big time kudos to you.  That is gorgeous!!  I love the colors and the stitching...I'm envious

ssk and k2tog are both decreases.  They just slant differently.  SSK is when you slip two stitches off your left needle like you were going to knit them, and then you take the left needle and slide them through the front of the two slipped stitches and then knit them together.  Does that make sense?  Hope so!

Wow Daria.  That looks GREAT!!...My yarn showed up today, and I have mangaged 2 repeats so far, but these little things I produced (kids) are begging for some attention.  They just don't get knitting  *sigh*  When I have some more done in my "nice" yarn, I"ll post a pic.

I have been tugging on mine trying to get a straight edge like in Knitty.  But now I've decided that I like the "pinched" edge.  It gives it more of a leafy look to me.  So my edge will stay as is.  Of course, I'm still working on my practice one while I wait for my yarn to show up.  I'm addicted to this scarf.  It is also my first attempt at lace, and I found that as long as I pay attention to what I'm doing, it's a breeze.  I haven't attempted to brave the chart though.  I'm a read the pattern kind of gal.

I'm in!  I'll watch for the pattern to evolve..  I love that movie!  I've been watching the other thread going about this scarf. I'm glad there will be a KAL with it.  Of course, I have three other projects going right now.  What the hell, what's one more?!

Socks, I too will be using some Lavold silky wool.  I ordered it in moss.  Now, I'm just waiting for it to be delivered into my little hands.  I can't wait to see it.

Worthwhilegirl....I love the blue.  It looks pretty pretty!   Smiley

I started on a practice piece to make sure I can handle lace.  I wanted to do a practice piece before my "good" yarn shows up.  I love, love, love this pattern.  It is so nice to have to use my brain and keep track of rows, instead of the mindless knitting I've been doing.  I screwed up on one row (because I was watching Harry Potter at the same time).  But I was able to pull one row out and do it over.  I might end up with two of these.  My practice one and the one with the green yarn.  I hope everyone else is having fun with theirs.

Ok, count me in...I just ordered my yarn and now I must patiently (not) wait.  This will be my first attempt at lace too.  But it's soooo pretty!!
