14  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Inspiration vs. Rip-off on: May 16, 2009 08:46:19 PM
This is a very good topic and one I've been thinking about a lot lately.  I find myself coming up with so many ideas for things that I think are unusual or original, only to come across them later already having been done - many times - and probably better than I could ever have done them Tongue

As for taking inspiration from other people - I've actually felt reluctant in the past to do projects that were inspired by others in case it looked obvious where I got my inspiration from and the person thought I was ripping them off... anyone ever find this being the case or is it just me?

It's a tough one.  I guess it'll flatter some people and it'll pee others off, you can't please everyone.  As long as you're not stealing someones ideas for your own gain, or not giving credit where it's due then I think it's ok to draw inspiration from other peoples work.

Such a thoughtful and personal gift - really lovely Smiley

I love them!  My fave is the 'I farted' one Tongue  It reminds me of a little cartoon doodle I did... maybe I'll make it into an ATC Smiley  The 'yep she's dead' one is brilliant too.

Oh no, don't tempt me - I had a really hard time narrowing it down to just those five quotes... there are literally hundreds of brilliant one liners! Smiley

It ended in 2005, but I know a lot of channels re-run it - it was huge while it was out.  I had all the box sets but I lost them in a custody battle with my ex Tongue

I love it to bits - it's the kind of show that will make you laugh and cry at the same time Smiley

These are my first ATCs - I've just finished watching all five series of Six Feet Under (again!) and I'm all sad that it's not on any more so I put some of my favourite quotes into ATC form to console myself Tongue

They're fairly basic, all of  my crafty bits and bobs are packed away because I'm moving house, (plus I need to go buy some embellishments hehe).
The sizes are a bit off because I'm still learning how to use my scanner....

edit:  I just made another one.  I think I may be addicted.
(This one has nothing to do with six feet under)

Oh... it came out a bit small but you get the idea Smiley

Apologies if this or similar has already been posted, but you can print off free graph paper  on this site - just set your graph to have 1 line per inch.  Free pages full of 1" squares yay!

(They also have every type of graph/grid paper you could ever dream of  on this page )
Cheesy
