31  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: More Henna (a hand and a foot) :) on: September 07, 2011 11:25:03 AM
How beautiful!  I think the blue nail polish in the first photo really brings out the Henna.  Did it come out red or brown when you  rinsed it off?

I agree about the nail polish--after I did the henna on her, I made a comment to her about how much I liked the combination, haha.
It came out a very dark brown with a slight hint of red (much more brown than red, though).  The paste I buy usually turns out that way.  c( :

awesome! What do you use to get the lines thin?

Just a cone with the tip cut very, very small.  Gotta make sure your paste is very smooth too, otherwise it won't work.

Wow! really amazing and Ur designs are super cool! I was going to do henna in a fair like thing have any tips?

Well, I've never done henna at a fair myself, but the best tips I've ever found can be found here:  http://hennapage.com/henna/how/index.html

If there are any specific questions you have that aren't answered on that website, feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to answer! Smiley

At first glance I thought this was lace! Very nice. I love henna!

Yay! I'm so glad people keep saying that, because that's exactly what I intended it to look like, lol.  Thank you!! Cheesy

I love how the dots give the hand pattern a lace effect. Never would have thought it! My sister is working towards being a tattoo artist, and I'm trying to get her to do henna for me. I can do my left hand just fine, being right handed, but my left hand... forget it!

Haha, I'm the exact same way (except left handed, lol).  Whenever I post photos of henna I've done on my own hand, it's always of my right hand  c( :

The lace one looks amazing. I might have to attempt it for Halloween Smiley

Oooo, you should!  That's not a bad idea...haha
Post if you do it, please--I'd love to see!! Cheesy

Those are amazing!!! I love the more african one Cheesy

Thank you!  Cheesy

So pretty! I wish I knew someone who could do henna. I already know my hand's not steady enough!

Thank you!  And pssshhh, my hand's not steady at all.  I have to rest it on something no matter what, otherwise it's too unsteady to do anything.  lmao.
It's really just a matter of resting your hand on something and practicing a whole hell of a lot.  YOU CAN DO IT!!  haha Wink

Thank you so much! Cheesy
the top looks like a victorian lace glove ... and i like the African inspired design on your foot. Good on you!

These are stunning designs! They look like lace.

Thank you so much!
That's actually what I was going for Smiley
Glad it looks like that to someone other than me, lol

Yay!  Two more hennas for you!

Haven't been able to do many since I got my job (have to dress business casual, and most of the henna I do on myself is hand henna...which is not "business casual" ;____;), but did a few recently.

First one I did on my friend Sabrina.
Long story short, she and I went to middle and high school together in FL and lived about 2 miles away from each other, she moved to NY about two years ago, and I moved to CT about a year ago...now we live about 2 hours away! lol
So I went over for a visit, and she asked me to do some henna.

The next one was done on my foot, and I wanted to do it in a more African style, since I always do Indian style.

These were both 100% original, I might add (a year ago, I was having a lot of trouble coming up with my own random designs...I think I'm getting better! Cheesy)

Let me know what you think!
