Hey everyone, this was my very first attempt at doing a record bowl.  I loved it!  Here is the tutorial I used :

I started knitting in January and this is a pic of the very first scarf I made.  My son couldn't wait till I finished it.  Now I want to make more but in st st.  in harry potter style.

Details of swap: Make 2 baby/toddler hats (one winter, one summer) get 2 back.  They can be sewn, knitted, crocheted, etc.  You will each have a partner that you will trade with.  Once you are paired up, you can find out the size you will need to make from your partner.  You will have 2 mobths to finish your hats and then mail them off to your partner.  You must put tracking on your package and send me the tracking number so i know who has sent out their swaps and who hasn't.  Feel free to give the tracking number to your partner as well.    Once swaps are completed please post the hats!  This isn't required though.  Hope we all have fun!  If you have any questions please PM me at scrappinfool.
Also remember, you must be a member for a month before you can join this swap, so if you became a member after Jan. 18th, you will not be allowed to join this swap (per the craftster.org swap rules)

I was thinking of a swap for baby hats... either sewn, knitted, crochet, or whatever (although i can't think of any whatevers lol)  Maybe 2 hats per person?  A summer one and a winter one?  Anyone interested in a swap like this?  I would start it early Jan with hats due 1 month after start date.

Funds are pretty tight this year, and I want to make everyone's christmas presents.  I need some ideas.  This is what I've come up with so far..

husband - I'm going to "reupholster" his old ugly suitcase with StarWars Wrapping paper, make him a duct tape wallet, and bind him a book with some of his short stories in it.

7yr old Son - no idea.  He just got into Karate, so I might make him a bag to carry all his gear in.. any other ideas for this?

4 month old daughter - I was thinking of making her a nursing necklace..something she can play with while she is nursing.  any ideas for her?  She will be almost 6 months at xmas time.

My mother -  She LOVES siamese cats.  I was thinking of making her a grandma's brag book of my kids, but I want to give her something else as well.

Mother-in-law - She loves sewing.  I am making her a grandma's brag book as well, but wanted 1 or 2 other gifts for her

sister - She's a wierd one She's got 2 kids, but is a huge goth girl, smokes, drinks, loves getting tats and things that have dragons/wizards on them.

Brother-in-law - No idea.  He's outdoorsy..likes Kayaking, hikeing, camping, traveling.  He has a 6 yr old daughter and is divorced. He just bought a house last year.  He likes crazy ties and records.  He owns his own hardwood flooring business.

Father -  NO IDEA.  He smokes and loves star treky things. Plays an online game that is like star trek, and he immigrated to the US when he was a young boy, from Portugal.

Father-in-law -  he was in the navy a long time ago.  he loves making movies and taking pictures.  He also loves his music..he used to read his kids lord of the rings and the hobbit as bedtime stories.

Aunt - smokes, drinks, loves to gamble.  she lost her husband to cancer in 2002 (she now has aboyfirend) she is like a grandmother to my kids so she might get a scrapbook as well.  She loves her dogs as her kids

Grandmother - something grandmotherly lol

Grandmother-in-law - something to do with memorabilia or parrots

Friends - the husband is a marine reservist, IT specialist, and martial arts student, the wife is a scrapbooker, and they have 2 kids.  They love the asian themes and lady bugs.

any other quick but some what personal gifts.
