Frugalness:  I've been so bogged down with homework I didn't know how I was going to get my baking done today, but I managed.  Bread, banana bread and granola for the week.  Also over the weekend I made up some homemade all purpose cleaner (that I'm loving!) and some rags, though they turned out so cute I'm not quite sure I want to use them for rags lol.  They're made out of an old baby towel and some old flannel baby blankets.  I'll post pictures once I can find the cord to my camera hehe.


Weather:  We're supposed to get a snowstorm here on Tuesday night I guess.  Not like what ya'll have been getting but up to 10" by morning.  My son is PRAYING for a snow day lol.  I'll cross my fingers for him

Bad day today moneywise.  Our tenant that just moved out in the middle of January stiffed us with a 300 dollar gas bill and a 76 dollar electric bill.  My stash for emergencies is almost gone now :/  Housing market is crap so we can't sell the damned place for what we owe and of course rent on two places with me being unemployed is starting to kill us. 

I'm behind on my homework for school, and I'm a bit stressed. I apologize for the rant, but I'm just really bummed that my safety net of a nest egg is gone after all the bills we got stuck with and the cleaning/painting of the other house.   I really wish we could just get rid of the thing so we dont have to mess with it anymore.

Send me some frugality vibes please ladies...I need it!

I've successfully grown mint(peppermint and wintergreen i think but don't quote me), chives and rosemary indoors.  My chive plant seems to thrive on neglect, but the mint and rosemary are a bit more picky.  Mint will take over your house if you're not careful, and the rosemary you can shape them into neat little topiaries if you're so inclined

Since I am stuffed to the gills with plague right now, and since I've been telling everyone this because it rules, a nice tasty herbal tea for soothing various symptoms of cold and flu:

Per cup, 1 heaped tsp dried rosehips and 1 heaped tsp dried red hibiscus flowers.  Steep in boiling water for a good 5 minutes (if not longer - should be thick and dark red) and add a large quantity of sugar or honey (very sour without it).  Mixed right it is warm, soothing, and sweet, and tastes like the yummiest fruit juice ever.  May act as a mild sedative in large quantities.

If you're too lazy to mix your own, Sainsburys does teabags of this mixture.  That's actually how I discovered it
