1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: First EVER quilt finally finished - old t shirts into cuddly warm blanket :D on: April 03, 2011 04:26:40 PM
This is precisely what I plan to do when I start to thin down my t-shirt collection...that has reached 79 at last count...and I don't want to thin it down haha! This is awesome though, great work! Smiley
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: tired of the sexy-everything costumes? on: October 20, 2009 09:13:16 AM
I completely understand most everyone's beef on the sexy-everything.

This year I decided to go as a gentry lady from 1776, and I think the most I'm showing is going to be my poor excuse for cleavage. And even my last minute costume was an idea from a picture I saw of a post apocalypse little red riding hood. Its a little girl, and my only beef of the image is how short her shorts are.

I live in TN and it is supposed to be in the 40s-50s at night this weekend, so I chose black pants instead to stuff into boots.

I don't frequent many of the stores for costumes anymore because they're just plain stupid, and frankly boring and overdone. Last year, I just threw stuff together from my closet: pin-up vampire in a knee length pencil skirt and white button down and gray silk tie. and then a lounge singer in a semi formal gown. It isn't that hard to do, some people just lack the imagination.

I get so mad at my friend who states that Hallowe'en has been nothing but an excuse to dress as a slut. Ever.
So I had to remind him that when the tradition was first started, that wasn't the point. At all.

/rant lol

I bet my dog would love this, but I would have to do smaller for her, since she has a tendency to stomp on them and send them skittering, and since the only place for her to eat them would be the back deck, 12 feet from the ground...well.

But this is cute! I'll have to try and get an ice cube tray from the dollar store just for her!

I....I must have!

I....hope you don't mind if I borrow your idea...eventually....I have so many things on my list, once I get started my lit for me will be forgotten until after Christmas! haha!

That is simply amazing, I love this!

If I minded someone borrowing my idea, then I wouldn't have shared it.  Frankly, this is too nifty an idea to keep just for me.  All I'd ask is that when you do make one, you'd post it somewhere so that someone else might be inspired to make one too.  Wink

Yes ma'am! I think I am going to attempt to tackle the Batman Dynasty stuff...(Not hard, I know, but I'm a diehard fan of the Bat)

Bah! I have a meeting, I forgot it was the last tuesday of the month! Sad Monday? Thursday? I'd still like to meet up next week, but I truly did forget about the meeting! I'm sorry!!!

Next Tuesday sounds great! Right now my schedule is free, so I'll just pencil this in the spot. Seven? Is that an alright time? I don't live far from either downtown or Hixson, depending on which way I leave.

What would we like our choice craft to be? I have some fabric that I need to get cut into squares for patchwork! So...I could definitely bring a load of that to do, 'cause I've been putting it off for about oh....4 months. :[

I'll PM you with some info that might be handy, MEshelltakeone. ^_^ I look forward to this! The beau has a guy's night...and so...I think a craft night would be neat for me to participate in! Are we still up for Tuesdays? I can do Mondays as well.
