1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blue and Green Stripe Dress on: July 25, 2013 09:30:03 PM
I can't believe this dress only took me a day and a half! I found this fabric at a thrift shop and made a hybrid pattern from Simplicity 1873 and 1609... I redrew the scalloped collar from 1609 and used the bodice from 1873. I didn't have enough fabric for the skirt so I just made a simple pleated skirt from a long rectangle of the fabric.

I thought the colors on this fabric were pretty cool  Grin

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Dia De Muertos Hoodie on: May 05, 2013 08:50:52 PM
My husband and I spent about 3 hours in the fabric store picking out fabric to make hoodies! Actually, it's more like HE spent 3 hours picking out fabric, lol. He found a animal/hunting print that matches a baseball cap he just bought. I made my hoodie first to test out the pattern. I chose a Dia de Muertos pattern for the lining.

I added some heart shaped elbow pads!

I'll have to force myself to start on my husbands hoodie... I may have second sock syndrome, lol. Once I get it done I will post it and you can all roll your eyes at how dorky "couples hoodies" are  Grin
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Peter Pan Collar on: May 05, 2013 08:37:12 PM
I've been seeing these crocheted collars around the internet a lot lately but it wasn't until yesterday, when I found my horsey shirt, that I ever considered making one. I kinda thought I wouldn't have any shirts that could use a collar. This one, however, really needed something added to it to make me want to wear it. I found the pattern on Ravelry from this page: http://www.sharalambethdesigns.com/2011/08/georgette-collar.html
I'm really happy with it! I may try to take off the string ties and add a button instead.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / New Apartment on: February 24, 2013 09:27:24 PM
After waiting a LONG time, my husband is finally moving up to Alaska with me! I found a nice little apartment and spent two weeks getting everything ready. I had been living for two years in army barracks, which are really ugly and you can't use your own furniture. When I finally got a plan to bring my husband up here with me I just went crazy. I love interior design... I get depressed living in a boring or ugly place. Anyone else feel the same? I have to feel inspired when I walk into my home.

My mom got us a super cute chevron area rug from Urban Outfitters. The love seat was a hand-me-down and the pillows were on clearance! Score. I thrifted the coffee table, the leaf plate, vintage brass lamp and the vintage globe lamp as well.

I love our little bar area.

I did the paintings myself.

Since we are both from New York I did a little stencil of the Empire State Building.

I found this Samurai curtain at a thrift shop! I just love it!

The most expensive thing in the living room is this shelf from Target. I couldn't help myself, it looks so cool. I hope you like! I haven't finished the bedroom so I'll post it after it's all done  Smiley
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Super ruffled skirt with a neat waistband... on: November 24, 2012 10:18:14 PM
I made a super ruffled skirt recently and I had trouble creating a waistband that didn't look puffy because of the excess fabric. How are neat waistbands done when the skirt is gathered?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Autumn Plaid Skirt on: October 08, 2012 09:13:18 PM
My second sewing project from a pattern! I'm happy I'm getting the hang of sewing.

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Memories Mini Album (Picture Heavy) on: November 14, 2011 03:08:18 PM
I finally finished! I got some photos from my mom last week and went to work adding them to my mini. It's me and my brother when we were little.

That's my mom! (plus me!)

My brother is SO cute!!!

My forehead is huge! LOL

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / One-Day Fair Isle Hat on: November 12, 2011 07:58:53 PM
I had to work for 24 hours straight one day. Just sitting at a desk doing nothing... so of course I knitted! I copied this chart from Vogue Knitting Fall 2010. I don't do a lot of fair isle, but this was fun!

Taking my own photos is awkward ;P

9  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Pumpkin Soup, inspired by the Pioneer Woman on: November 12, 2011 07:22:22 PM
I couldn't do everything the original recipe called for, but it still turned out great! This is a must-have Thanksgiving dinner item! Yummy on a cold snowy day...

The original recipe is here on the Pioneer Woman blog ---> http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/11/pumpkin-soup/
I WISH I could roast real pie pumpkins for this!
10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Dessert Recipe book on: October 21, 2011 07:55:35 PM
I made a book of recipes with some scrapbook paper I had that I didn't know what to do with. I like how it turned out and it's going to be really useful!
