2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blue and Green Stripe Dress on: July 25, 2013 09:30:03 PM
I can't believe this dress only took me a day and a half! I found this fabric at a thrift shop and made a hybrid pattern from Simplicity 1873 and 1609... I redrew the scalloped collar from 1609 and used the bodice from 1873. I didn't have enough fabric for the skirt so I just made a simple pleated skirt from a long rectangle of the fabric.

I thought the colors on this fabric were pretty cool  Grin

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Dia De Muertos Hoodie on: May 05, 2013 08:50:52 PM
My husband and I spent about 3 hours in the fabric store picking out fabric to make hoodies! Actually, it's more like HE spent 3 hours picking out fabric, lol. He found a animal/hunting print that matches a baseball cap he just bought. I made my hoodie first to test out the pattern. I chose a Dia de Muertos pattern for the lining.

I added some heart shaped elbow pads!

I'll have to force myself to start on my husbands hoodie... I may have second sock syndrome, lol. Once I get it done I will post it and you can all roll your eyes at how dorky "couples hoodies" are  Grin
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Peter Pan Collar on: May 05, 2013 08:37:12 PM
I've been seeing these crocheted collars around the internet a lot lately but it wasn't until yesterday, when I found my horsey shirt, that I ever considered making one. I kinda thought I wouldn't have any shirts that could use a collar. This one, however, really needed something added to it to make me want to wear it. I found the pattern on Ravelry from this page: http://www.sharalambethdesigns.com/2011/08/georgette-collar.html
I'm really happy with it! I may try to take off the string ties and add a button instead.

Thank you everyone!
9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Post your CRAFTY Tattoos! on: February 24, 2013 09:53:49 PM
My grandmother was the craftiest woman around! She taught my mother who taught me. When she passed she left me her whole sewing room... a WHOLE room with sewing machines, tables, a serger, fabric bolts etc... I am so happy to be a crafter just like her. I'm not an expert at sewing yet but I plan on getting there. I've done quite a few projects so far. I decided to get this tattoo for her a few months ago.

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / New Apartment on: February 24, 2013 09:27:24 PM
After waiting a LONG time, my husband is finally moving up to Alaska with me! I found a nice little apartment and spent two weeks getting everything ready. I had been living for two years in army barracks, which are really ugly and you can't use your own furniture. When I finally got a plan to bring my husband up here with me I just went crazy. I love interior design... I get depressed living in a boring or ugly place. Anyone else feel the same? I have to feel inspired when I walk into my home.

My mom got us a super cute chevron area rug from Urban Outfitters. The love seat was a hand-me-down and the pillows were on clearance! Score. I thrifted the coffee table, the leaf plate, vintage brass lamp and the vintage globe lamp as well.

I love our little bar area.

I did the paintings myself.

Since we are both from New York I did a little stencil of the Empire State Building.

I found this Samurai curtain at a thrift shop! I just love it!

The most expensive thing in the living room is this shelf from Target. I couldn't help myself, it looks so cool. I hope you like! I haven't finished the bedroom so I'll post it after it's all done  Smiley
