1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: First Project in a Long Time on: August 23, 2009 05:05:03 PM
Did you a particular pattern or make your own? I have been wanting one like this for awhile but don't want to buy a pattern when I am certain there is a freebie tute out there!  Smiley

I know the feeling. I have some Alexander Henry circus print fabric and have no idea what to do with it but it's a "good" fabric. lol...

I love the fabric with the dolls, they are so cute. The purse is adorable as well. Great job.

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Please help-need to find a way to put letters on a tote bag... on: July 30, 2009 06:43:14 AM
I might need to make a few of these so keep that in mind. I am making red tote bags and need to put a logo with 2 four letter words on them. The words would be white and black. I thought about iron-on letters but I don't think they would hold up. Then I thought about those sew on letters from the craft store but I am not sure it's cost effective.
These bags will be for a fundraiser so I am trying to not spend too much to make them so that all the profit can go to the charity.

Any other ideas?

Will you frame that or make it into a pillow? Sorry if I missed where you might have mentioned that. It's just beautiful. I am such a novice at embroidery!

Where did you get that fabric on the outside? It's so adorable. Great job all around!

Here is the link, from RicRac. http://vintagericrac.blogspot.com/2008/01/1-hour-bag-tutorial.html

Now you have to draw your own pattern based on her picture and then I added the tab closure. Thanks for the nice comments.

This originally started out as a purse for me but I am now giving it to my sister. She lives in Pittsburgh so this is the perfect color combo for any Steel City Sports fan!!

This was listed as the "1 hour bag" but it took me longer, like 3 hours. I made a few errors and I added the flap closure, it has a magnet there. I also had to draw out my own pattern as the tute only showed hers, not a printable one. In the end I like this design and will make another one for me. Oh yeah, it has batting or wadding inside to give it shape. I still have to tack down the straps a bit more on the inside. There are fabric covered buttons on the sides where the straps are.

Oh yeah, C & C welcomed!!!
