2  Tea time with a few classic monsters! in Quilting: Completed Projects by deadsweaters on: May 30, 2013 08:05:31 PM
I love monsters!!!!

With that being said, I made this mug rug for lanikins in the round 5 mug swap.

This one was hard to part with...I loved making it and was so please with the turn out..

Dracula!

The Mummy!

(I was so excited to find that fabric!)

And my favorites!  Frankenstein and his Bride!

(I'm planning on making a whole slew of cutesy classic monster plushies, starting with these guys.)

I chose a black and white stripe fabric for the back.

Tea is always better when you have company!!  Smiley

Thanks for looking!

In April, I participated in my first ATC swap.

This was my first ATC and my first attempt at paper quilling.

I made it for homerof2's sunflower theme.

I fell in love with quilling and ATC's after this one!

Thanks for looking!  Smiley

I received some amazing ATCs!!!!!

First up, Whysteria suprised me with a card for my theme of 'something scary!'

I had to include the adorable owl card that she sent it in!  She said it was her first time using water colors, and she did an awesome job!  It's so cute and scary!

Next, two people claimed me for circus!

Wiccadwitch sent me this beauty..

How did you know that ribbon dancers are my favorite!!!  I always wanted to be one.  This card is also covered in glitter adding to the whimsey!  I love it so much.

Kosmicgirl sent me this beautiful circus card.

So friggin adorable!  I love the patterns and colors and the seal is awesome!

I also have to post the card she sent this in!

It's like you know me!!!  This is so me!  I've got it hanging on the wall along with the ATC.  Thank you!

and finally, I received cmarion3's version of a playing card!

I think this is so beautiful!!  I plan on keeping this theme until I get a full deck of cards and this is the first one.  An amazing way to start this deck!  This card has made me very excited for this deck!

Thank you all so much.  Everyone is so talented!!!  Smiley

6  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 31 (signups end 5/27, Send by June 24) in ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED by deadsweaters on: May 27, 2013 05:21:18 PM
ahh!!  I didn't get a chance to completely sew one of my skele-owls together...super busy week, but I'm going to go ahead and put this up to give you an idea of what I'm offering.

This is what they look like before sewn together and decked out!
They are about six inches tall, a good hand full of plushie goodness.  They all six are different colors and each one will have a special prop with them...(a top hat, a bow tie, etc...)

hope you like them!! Smiley

9  Attack of the button trees! in Quilting: Completed Projects by deadsweaters on: May 15, 2013 08:30:26 PM
I made this mug rug for a swap.  I keep seeing these button tree paintings and whatnot, so I thought I'd do my own spin on it.

The tree is 100% hand sewn and made of felt (including the buttons).  I had so much fun making this and have decided to do a series of trees on mini art quilts.

I also am completely in love with batiks!
Here is the back of it.

10  Re: Jar of Whimsies Rd 12 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by deadsweaters on: May 15, 2013 08:18:11 PM
I recieved from stefaniegk like a week ago and am finally posting pictures!

Here's the whole thing..

a few of my favorites!

I love the scarf and hobo-glove set.  She said it was Doctor Who themed, and I definately see that.  The colors remind me of the tenth doctor, the scarf length is very fourth doctor, and the little bow is very eleventh doctor.

I love it all, Thank you!! Smiley
