1  Re: Dollar Store Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sherettehippot on: August 01, 2010 05:38:20 AM
I am posting pictures of what I sent to New2ItAll - I am absolutely gutted that my parcel didn't make it to New2ItAll. I am sort of hoping that it might still arrive or that it will somehow find an appreciative home...

Anyhow - here is what I made (only one group shot really showed everything up as I stupidly took the pictures on my brightly coloured rug!)

In my local poundland I bought:
24 felt dusters - they were blue, yellow, green and pink and about 12" square - total cost 1
One pink and white polka dot baby fleece (1m square) - total cost 1
3 plain wooden picture frames 5" x 7" - total cost 1
One crochet-edge cotton table runner - total cost 1
One pair fluffy kids socks - total cost 1
One 'craft pack' of assorted sequins - total cost 1
Total Spend = 6

I used toy eyes and a few scraps of material and beads from my stash and I made these things:

3x decorated picture frames
Binky bunny - from the polka dot fleece with her very own matching blanket.
8x finger puppets - from the felt dusters, I made an octopus, giraffe, dragon, butterfly, elephant, pig, rabbit and chick.
Sock monkey - from the super soft fluffy socks
Mini-tote bag (for carrying around super-fluffy sock monkey maybe?!) (I made this out of the cotton table runner material).
Beach scene and River scene - to play with the extras I threw in - some farm yard animals! Smiley (Made from the left over felt dusters!)

I had so much fun crafting for this swap! Shame to get so let down by the Royal Mail Sad

Wow - everything in the gallery is amazing, so creative! Smiley

I received from the lovely missdolly last week (I have been appalingly slow at getting pictures up, especially as I am so excited by my package - but sadly my life has mainly been spent at work - even the pictures are sneaked on my desk at work so I haven't had a chance to upload them until now).

Anyhow - missdolly completely spoiled me!

She sent me this cute little book bag (how she knew I love to read I am really not too sure!) And filled it with information and a couple of books about haunted Liverpool (I am saving these for when we go camping next as scary stories and camping is a bit of a tradition!)

In the books were these amazing bookmarks:

Which are already in use! Smiley Thank you!

And... yes, there is more...

All these lovely things  Grin mini bubble bath/shower gels, the most delicious smelling candles (strawberry and champagne - excellent combination) kitty collars - Titan and Quaffle (our two kitties were super happy to be thought of and they look very handsome in their new attire -though they would not let me get a picture to prove it!) Marbles - I did try to take a picture of them because they are beautiful, but it turns out I couldn't do them justice (they're in the little bag, and they came with a little accompanying book about Marbles) They are to represent the glass that is made local to where missdolly lives! Smiley And my husband has claimed them for his own!
Missdolly also included a few postcards - they're already up on my noticeboard and some worry dolls (they're on one of the postcards) - I have never had worry dolls before, though I have always admired them and I have been having quite a stressful time at work recently so these are totally in use!

But wait, there is even more! (Like I said, spoiled much?!)

The most giant sock monkey ever! He is amazing - in red and white which is the local rugby club colours. Love him and have named him Gerald. He is in pride of place on the shelves in my craft room.
Also - a big piece of material which has lots of different things, spider web, music etc sort of printed on in a sketched way - can't wait to make something with this!
A little zipper pouch and keyring which I have already put to good use to store all my work ID and keys Smiley (I feel so much more organised now). Missdolly made some cute glass-marble magnets (If you look super carefully they are in the picture Wink) which are holding things onto the filing cabinet in my office to brighten the place up a bit! Smiley
And finally, a lovely tote bag - I opened the parcel with a couple of my work colleagues (who were super impressed by everything) but they both said that the bag was very 'me' and I do absolutely love it! Have been carrying it around neatly folded and got green clubcard points in Tesco using it the other day!

Thank you so much missdolly - you have been awesome I love everything completely! Thank you!

3  Re: Dinosaur Swap Rd 2 in The Swap Gallery by sherettehippot on: May 02, 2010 04:53:48 AM
Here are pictures of what the fantastic hahnasay sent!

Three kinds of dino-cookie cutters - the tiny one is my favourite! Smiley
Dinosaur letters - they are mine and my husbands initials Smiley
Dinosaur magnets - they are already proudly displayed on my fridge!
Dinosaur stickers - lots of them, they're fab!
Dinosaur figures - have put them in with a mini-cactus display thingamy we have so they look like they're in a little forest!
Little wooden dinosaur shapes with our initials
Plaster (?) dinosaur - painted red and blue - so cute!
Two dinosaur eggs - with volcanoes in them. We added water and they exploded *everywhere* but after they had fizzed away there were little dinosaurs inside  Cheesy
Dinosaur trinket box - which I am keeping crochet hooks in for the moment Smiley
And my absolute favourite thing.... (here's another picture)....

This dinosaur canvas - I made my husband help me put it up in our kitchen right away... love this so much!!!!! Thank you!

I also got lots of Canada-themed stuff... here is a picture:

A canadian tie - which I so want my husband to wear! Smiley
Light up Canadian shot glasses... so much fun! Already had a play with these...  Wink
Canadian post-cards
Canadian light-up badge
Maple lolly-pops... haven't tried them yet, but they look delicious! Smiley
And an initial keyring for me - which I have already attached to my work keys in the hope that I will be less likely to keep losing them! Smiley

Thank you so much! Loved this swap!  Grin

4  Elmer the Elephant of Surprise in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sherettehippot on: February 08, 2010 12:02:05 PM
I just finished making this little blue elephant for my friend from work - she is going through a bit of a tough time at the moment but there isn't much I can do to really help, so I thought I would try to make her something cheering instead... hence Elmer!

I spent most of the weekend and nearly watched entire season of 24 while I made Elmer! Smiley The pattern is from etsy.

Meet Elmer!

(He has a blue parcel tag around his neck - like Paddington Bear - saying 'Please look after this Elephant')

And one more - so you can see his pretty tail!

Hopefully he will make a cheering surprise!  Grin

Yey! I received! Thank you so much deadbathducky - I love everything!  Grin And so do Quaffle and Titan!  Cheesy

This is everything together:

Deadbathducky sent me loads of gorgeous scrapbook pages for me to add pictures of Titan and Quaffle on to, a cute little cat mirror for my office, a fabulous stencilled (with bleach?) shirt, a pom-pom toy and a glove toy as well as some australian goodies (two coasters and a pin-badge).

Here is a close up of some of the pretty scrap book papers:

Here is a close up of the fantastic shirt:

Here is a close up of the fabulous toys:

And here are the action shots! Quaffle was feeling very playful, but Titan got all camera shy... so they're not the best quality ever!!

6  Re: Cat lovers swap (singnups November 3rd-November 20th) Sendout jan.15th in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by sherettehippot on: November 09, 2009 10:00:03 AM
Beautiful kitties everyone! Please may I join in this swap?

I (only) have two cats - (I'd love to have at least ten!) Quaffle and Titan love handmade toys and enjoy hiding them around the house Smiley

Here is Quaffle:

He has fluffy long fur and is kind of short for a cat, he enjoys being upside down. He spends most of his days looking in through our next door neighbours windows at their gorgeous grey cat Nessie.
And here is Titan:

His absolute favourite thing ever is to sit in a paper bag - he likes gift bags especially Smiley

Just sending my questionnaire over now Smiley

7  Fluffy Amigurumi Elephant in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sherettehippot on: September 01, 2009 08:24:54 AM
Hi!

I just finished pattern testing for Angry Angel (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=319248.0) and I thought I would share my finished elephant. She put together a simply gorgeous pattern for Flora the elephant - she reminded me so much of the Humphrey's Corner elephants I just had to volunteer!

I used slightly fluffy wool for her body - it was all I had in the right shade and luckily it worked out okay. I also added a centre to the flower because I found these tiny pompoms which matched her dress and had to use one! Cheesy

Anyhow - here is my attempt - I haven't named her yet:

Thank you to Angry Angel for letting me test out - I really enjoyed it! Smiley
I'd love to know what people think! Smiley

9  Fleur the amigurumi bunny! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by sherettehippot on: August 15, 2009 09:23:26 AM

I pattern tested for the lovely EssHaych (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=316656.0)
She put together a pattern for a lovely floppy-eared bunny.
Here is how my version came out - I used a 2mm crochet hook and she is about 12cm high Smiley
My husband named her Fleur.

And here is Fleur with a fuchsia in the garden - this shows her true colour pink better!

Thank you to EssHaych for letting me test out again - it was fun! Grin
Love to know what people think! Smiley

10  Re: Stuffie/Plushie swap gallery of goodness in The Swap Gallery by sherettehippot on: August 13, 2009 11:22:35 AM
I received today!!!!!  Grin From the fantastic mysticflower! Cheesy I was so excited to get my parcel!  Cheesy

When I first opened the package there was a little note - it was from my new friend Henrietta the owl. Henrietta brought along her friend Penelope the patchwork bear too! Smiley
In her note Henrietta explained about the fabulous fluffly crocheted nest that she was sitting on - it buttons on to her bum - and had that she had brought along a secret. She totally had brought along a secret - under her fluffly warm nest was a little owlet. I actually screamed with delight when I discovered him. My husband named him Henry.
Here are Henry and Henrietta nesting in our cherry tree:

And here is Penelope by our pond:

Mysticflower also had Henrietta and Penelope pick out some extra little bits - Henrietta decorated her nest with three beautiful crocheted broaches. Penelope picked out some fantastic heart cookie cutters and brought along some great handmade buttons too.
Here is a picture of everything together:

Thank you so much mysticflower - you are a fantastic swap partner and I had a great time swapping with you!  Grin
