i loved this fabric so much i went and bought some to make my little one something too! thanks for the inspiration, loves it. Smiley

I can't wait to see what you make with it! I've been trying to find something fun to do with the rest of the Mendocino collection ever since I finished this one!

Very, very clever. I'll bet this would translate well into a sundress for a grownup, too! I might have to try it!

Really sweet, would love to see an action shot...

I'll post one as soon as she's big enough to wear it (though she's not due to be born for another couple of months yet...). Believe me, I'm DYING to see it on her (well, dying to see her, for that matter)!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Valkyrie Hat on: February 04, 2009 03:45:12 PM
Thanks Paranoir!

This is so effing fantastic! Did you work off of a pattern?

I did - I used this one: http://rsveverka.com/chileconyarne/2008/04/baby-viking-hat/

The horns actually turned out even better after a little more shaping, but there was sort of a funny gap on each horn due to the pattern. Other people's ravelry projects showed the same gap. I compensated by stitching it up, but if you have a ravelry account, there is someone else who posted a modified version of the horns that I might try if making another for my own wee one...

The best part? Worsted-weight yarn made it knit up really quickly. Took me about four hours to whip this out. Smiley

Very, very precious!

Can I ask what pattern you're using for those booties? They're adorable!

Knit this hat for a wee one, which is why it looks just a little bit small for my DH, who is shown here modeling it...

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: a knitting milestone for me! my first pair of socks! yay!!! on: February 03, 2009 02:22:59 PM
By far and away, one of my favorite yarns ever. What a great pattern! Nice work!
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Cute felt dragon! Img heavy, first project! on: February 03, 2009 02:20:16 PM
Whoa! That is amazing, and looks really complex. Good work! You are clearly a very patient crafter, and with such great results, I'd say it was worth your effort!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Yoda Naranjada (Baby Yoda Sweater in orange Argentinean alpaca/wool) on: February 03, 2009 02:17:14 PM

Got this yarn in Argentina on my honeymoon, and sat on it for months and months trying to figure out what to do with my precious souvenir yarn.

When I found out I was pregnant, this is the first thing I knit. It ties on both sides of the wrap, so even if she's a wiggly little monster, I should still be able to get her into it. Smiley

Haven't blocked it yet. I figure if I leave it unblocked, it might fit her at six months, and I'll block it eventually to make it a little bigger so she can wear it longer!

Btw, I could not be a bigger fan of knitting baby clothes. Such instant gratification!!
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Slapdash Snap Clutch! on: February 03, 2009 02:07:56 PM
That would be lovely! I'll look forward to it!

I'm going to look for frames, too. I don't know why it's never occurred to me to explore the fabulous world of snap purses!!
