1  backpack in Weaving: Completed Projects by lizzyemmcreith on: April 11, 2011 04:23:53 PM
Hey! I took a weaving class this winter and had the opportunity to make something. I decided to make a backpack, since place mats and dishcloths are boring. I decided to make a striped warp and use grey for the weft. i used a thicker cotton as the weft because I wanted it to go quickly, so due to limited colors i had to do a grey weft and make the warp colorful, rather than the other way around. The straps are the sampler I made at the beginning to lean different patterns and how to change color etc.
here it is:

and the back:

Thanks!

2  Egyptian patterned dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lizzyemmcreith on: September 13, 2010 04:57:38 PM
Hey! So I made a dress, though technically it's not a dress, it just looks like one. The fabric is woven, and has Egyptian themes printed on it, like papayrus and hieroglyphs. The bodice is actually just a strip of fabric tied around me artfully, and I'm wearing a skirt made of the same fabric. The sash hides where they meet. the sash is navy blue, but it's kind of hard to tell. And I'm very sorry but I don't know how to rotate my pictures, or for that matter, how to make them bigger.
here it is:

and the whole dress:

Thanks!

3  New Blue Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by lizzyemmcreith on: April 04, 2010 12:10:49 PM
Hi! My friend gave me some wool that she spun herself for my birthday, and I decided to knit a hat. It's got cables, and there's seed stitch in between the cables. And the wool is super soft, so it's really comfy.
Here it is:

And from the top:

if anyone wants a pattern let me know!

Hello! I did this last summer, and never even thought to post it until now. It is very simple, and mostly buttons, so I'm hoping this is the right place to post it.

7  sweatpants to skinny "jeans" in CHALLENGE 45 ENTRIES by lizzyemmcreith on: December 05, 2009 07:33:35 AM
Hello craftsters! I took some thrift store sweatpants and turned them into some sort of skinny jeans. the before looked like this:
http://fleecefarm.com/images/medium/purplesweatpants_MED.jpg
I made them tighter and added a fly and some back pockets. The fly was tricky, because I've never done one before, and the pants were already made, so I basically had to figure out how to put a zipper in without it showing. I left the elastic waistband in because all my real jeans have really bigs waists (big enough that belts don't even help that much). [EDIT(I forgot to mention...)]These were made with these http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=231826.0 in the back of my mind.
so here they are:

Back pocket:

The fly. It looks a bit weird from this angle, and the stitches sort of half-disappeared into the fabric.

8  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in Halloween Costumes by lizzyemmcreith on: November 01, 2009 11:12:25 AM
Happy Halloween everyone! Here is the costume I made this year. I went as Donatello, the nerdiest of the ninja turtles. It was a hit with my friend's aunt, apparently. I used an old brown sheet and a t-shirt from a summer camp I did at my town's university.

Ninja pose in the hallway:

This was a controversial matter among my friends. We decided that since a ninja turtle has ninja powers, it would be able to get itself flipped over if it happened to be stuck on its back. But here's a pic of me stuck on my back anyway.

This is a pic of my shell.

And, here's my rock hard six pack I've been working on...

10  neckwarmer in Knitting: Completed Projects by lizzyemmcreith on: October 24, 2009 01:50:41 PM
I made this on a knifty knitter. (the green one- i'm not sure what size it is) It's basically just a tube. It can be worn in a million different ways, but I mostly just wear it as a neck warmer. I used merino wool, so it's super soft.
