81  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / too many HP T-shirts on: July 17, 2009 07:22:52 PM
We are going to see HP HBP as a group and I decided to make t-shirts in several different styles. Most are stenciled, some with hand painted additions, and a couple are hand painted.

This one uses two stencils. The dark mark was also used with a death eater mask stencil, but I can't find those shirts.

These are hand painted on the front.

and stenciled on the back

I also stenciled two of these, I will be making one for myself later. They say, "Make Love, Not Horcruxes."

The golden snitches were hand painted as were the goal posts. In total I will have made 16 t-shirts.
82  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Solar cooker work-in-progress on: June 28, 2009 03:54:56 PM
Last year I made a solar cooker out of found objects. It worked well, but some of it didn't hold up well. I am in the process of refurbishing it. The complete ongoing story can be found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170428.0

with some improvements

added utensil holders

I am in the process of adding taller legs and redoing the reflector. Two of the sides warped and splotched. I had used regular cardboard for those sides. The other two sides, I used cross stich backing board. This seems to be both more sturdy and keeps the mylar from reflecting. The cardboard also let moisture seep through and spotted the mylar.
83  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / mesh pendant on: June 28, 2009 01:56:55 PM
While helping my on make a paper mache volcano for school, I thought the mesh used for the structure was pretty. I used it as a base for a pendant.

84  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / slippers inspired by Lydia the tranges tutorial updated on: June 28, 2009 12:35:28 AM
I found Lydia's tutorial and was ispired by it's siplicity. I didn't use the same stitches or counting. I also changed the placement of the strap and made it button. All in all I am happy with them. I can't wait to see the many variations I can come up with.

I made a few more slippers

Those became these
85  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / beret and wrist warmers- yes I know it is summer on: June 27, 2009 08:13:48 PM
I made a pair of wrist warmers for my HP HBP swap partner, so I decided to make a pair for my daughter. I also made her a hat to match. It was my first time to make a hat, second for the wrist warmers and I made up the pattern. Not bad for a start.

here it is pulled down to keep the ears warm
86  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / market bags on: June 27, 2009 08:07:32 PM
I have been addicted to yarn lately and wanted something for summer. They work great for the farmers market and the beach. Saddly, I have only been able to try them at the farmer's market.
87  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / botanical slide charms on: May 29, 2009 12:35:11 AM
These are keepsake pressings, made into charms. The microscope slides I purchase had white spaces for labeling. I decided to write their scientific names there. I wish my handwriting was a little better. This first picture is my bleeding heart, to remind me of Grandma's garden, and a fourleaf clover I found at a turning point in my life. You can also see the journal I started.

I also made my sister one.
88  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / two journals on: May 29, 2009 12:12:50 AM
I used some bits from my fairy swap package to decorate some journals. The first one is the swap journal I made.

The other one is a purchase journal. The lace on the front is difficult to see, I also used pressed flowers from my garden. It is sealed with fusible vinyl to protect the flowers.

and the back

I am not sure what I am going to do with the cream colored one, but I love the subtle colors.
89  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / passport cover dimensions on: May 17, 2009 03:07:21 PM
Does anyone know the dimensions of a passport? I would like to make a cover for a swap. Thank you.
