1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Question on a spinning wheel... on: March 18, 2010 06:57:20 AM
One of my friend's...her dad has a spinning wheel that he wants to get rid of. I just started spinning and would love to buy a spinning wheel.

I wanted to see if all you lovely spinners could tell me if this is a good wheel and a decent price before I commit to buying it.

He has a Louet S10 and wants $150 for it.

What do you think?

Hello.
So yesterday I used this really nice batt of mixed wools. It's crazy and a bit wonky but I LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out! My third attempt spinning.

Used the advice from yesterday...and no kinks!!

Thanks for looking!
J.

3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / First time spinning on: March 03, 2010 07:24:37 AM
Hello all you lovely spinners!
I received my first low whorl spindle in the post the other day, I gave it a shot yesterday morning, these aren't perfect but I'm in love and have found a new fave thing to do! Spinning!! I think with more and more practice they will look better and more uniform.

First up...plain white, think and thin!

How do I fix the random curls and kinks?

Next I tried to mix some black and white wool, here's what I got, this one is a bit more uniform...mostly thick.

Thanks for looking! And seriously...any advice would be AWESOME!

Hi Everyone,
I have admired all the work on this board for a while now. I thought the easiest first project would be to try and felt over a bar of soap, here's my first attempt...
