24  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: weave in end when using double ring? on: April 16, 2009 07:16:10 AM
Thanks everyone!!

100% say to weave in the end.
That's what I'll be doing.

25  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / weave in end when using double ring? on: April 15, 2009 01:11:07 PM
I started this granny square by making a double ring.
(not the traditional joined chain)

Does the end need to be weaved in?
I'm thinking I can just snip it off because it's already weaved in.

All opinions welcome!!

This is a free pattern from Lily Sugar 'n Cream Web site.
I didn't follow it exactly.  The pattern has flowers worked into the bag.
I made flower appliques and then sewed them onto the bag.

Here's the original free pattern:
Measurement: Approx 9 ins [23 cm] high

Materials: Lily Sugarn Cream 4-ply Worsted Weight, 2.5 oz (solids) or 2 oz (ombres), 2 balls

Size 4.50 mm (U.S. H or 7) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. Two large beads.

Gauge: 13 sts and 7 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pat

Pattern Stitches
Front Post Double Crochet: (Fpdc) Yoh and draw up a loop from front to back around post of next dc. Draw up a loop. (Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice. Fpdc made.
Flower: (Fpdc. Ch 3) around next dc. (Fpdc. Ch 3) 5 times around same dc. Turn piece upside down. (Fpdc. Ch 3) 5 times around previous dc on same row. 1 dc around same post. Flower made.

27  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Summer Purse on: April 10, 2009 06:59:48 AM
I found this pattern on Etsy and had to have it!
What I like most is the fabric band.

But I was thinking of making a "themed" purse.
Like black yarn with silky Asian material or Holiday material or animal print.

For this one, I just used yarn and fabric I already had.
I'm real happy with how it turned out!

Thanks for looking!

These bags work up pretty quick and are practical too.

I made this one for myself:

Thanks for looking!!

These are adorable!
You did a great job making up the "wife" version.

Do you have the link where the pattern is for sale?
