11  Granny Purse with Owl Lining in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sunnychoppers on: January 08, 2009 07:25:10 AM
I found this purse on line and wanted to make somthing similar.
http://www.thepurseworkshop.com/Granny-Square-Pucker-Purse.html

I chose a different granny square pattern and made 9 small squares per side instead of 4.

I bought the owl lining first and then chose my yarn colors based on the lining.
I ironed Pellon Fusible Interface to the lining.

I even made a small pocket in the lining!!

It's very loud and colorful and has tons of texture.
My husband said it looks and feels like an expensive purse!

I used bias tape to sew the handles to the lining.

Thanks for looking!!

13  Mini Stocking using Mae6233's pattern in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sunnychoppers on: December 08, 2008 02:02:46 PM
Thank you, Mae6233 for this great pattern!!
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=270920.0

I love this pattern because it works up fast with DCs and it has a real heel.
I did alter the pattern a bit because I wanted a smaller stocking that would look nice as an onrmament on the tree.
I chained 20 instead of 24.

Each stocking has a bell sewn to the toe.
The tags (which are hard to see in the pics) have the person's name and then 2008.
I "laminated" the tags by covering both sides with thick clear tape,
then inserted a small metal grommet.
I'm hoping these will hold up for years to come!

For my in-laws who do a lot of wood crafts:

Khaki and red for our out-doors man friend:

For my DH's boss.  Hard to see in the photo, but it has a golf club and golf ball and golf tee:

For my friend who loves dogs:

This one is done in my niece's cheerleading colors:

Thanks for looking!!

Happy Holidays

14  Tic-Tac-Toe Purse in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sunnychoppers on: November 26, 2008 08:07:39 AM
I had lots of fun making this purse!

I was inspired by these 2 purses:
http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/reversiblegrannysq.html
http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69836

I wanted it to have granny squares like the first purse,
but a handle like the second purse.

Here's how it turned out:

The front is 9 mini granny squares.
The back is one large granny squared.

The tic-tac-toe pieces are 12 dc in a magic ring, and then finished off with 24 sc.

I used Caron Simpy Soft and a G hook.

I lined it with yellow fabric:

I decided Tom needed a hat too.
Here's the link to make the hat:

I love to make bookmarks.
They work up fast and make great gifts.

I used spray adhesive to glue fabric to back of bookmark.
I placed a grommett at the top and braided 18 strands of craft thread to make the tassel.

I have several more photos, but I'm having a hard time uploading them.

Thanks for looking!  Grin
