1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Gory Little Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf on: November 05, 2010 04:24:27 PM
@swinginmartinis
I made the guts out of old bike inner tubes, if you want to make your own I posted a tutorial here http://thestrangestitchery.blogspot.com/2010/10/guts-how-to.html
Oh, and I saw your costume - unbelievably amazing! The tentacles are f*ing awesome! Really wish I could make it to ComiCon to see your kick-ass Ursula in person!!!

@Calentine
Thank you!!!

For these costumes I made my dress, hood, eye patch, and wounds, my boyfriend's ears, tail, pants, guts and cravat. I also did my boyfriend's make up, modified a coat to make his frock coat and bloodied up a perfectly good novelty hatchet to get the effect I wanted.

Getting ready

A peek at his tail

I loved my axe!

In this pic I'm a bit sweaty and disheveled after dancing like a mad woman Wink

Just a normal evening out with a giant baby

 If I ever designed a house *that* is the banister I'd have. Stairs are inherently creepy to me so I might as well have one that is fun as well as creepy. Outstanding, amazing work!
6  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Blood Worms....Yum! on: October 14, 2010 12:20:11 PM
I'm going to a "The Shining" screening that's also a "gross food" potluck - I am definitely going to try and make the worms! So perfect, thank you for posting this!!!

Ha! I may be short enough, but I'm certainly not skinny enough to pull off a Prince costume. Little Red Riding Hood it is!
8  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Guts: A Tutorial on: October 14, 2010 12:07:59 PM
This year my boyfriend is going as a disemboweled Big Bad Wolf - and I'll be Red Riding Hood the Disemboweler! (Don't think that's really a word, but it should be. Grin) I might also be carrying his tail around in my basket as a trophy, hehe.

During this busy ghoul and zombie season, what can be more important than a good set of guts?

I made these guts out of bicycle inner tubes. It's the first time I've tried making guts this way and I think they turned out alright. I think the design and arrangement need to be tweaked just a bit, but they aren't half bad.

10  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Halloween 2010 - Costume Sneak Peek! on: October 13, 2010 01:46:24 PM
From this picture can you tell what I'm going to be?

Does this help, or is it confusing?

Then there's no way a picture of part of my boyfriend's costume is going to help

Here's a pic of my almost finished dress

Yes, they're couple's costumes, so maybe these next pics will help

I made everything above except for the teeth. The hatchet I just took a cheap plastic prop and bloodied and dirtied it up a bit. Completed costume pics to come soon!
