1  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by starghoti on: March 31, 2005 08:51:23 AM
Here's my clapotis to add to the bunch.

It is made with Noro Silk Garden.  I only had 5 skeins so I cut out one repeat on the width, and somehow had nearly a skein left over!  When I pulled my needles off at the end, I discovered why: i had knit the thing with 6's instead of 8's!  Oh well.  So it's not as wide as I would like, but it came out OK.

There's a great pattern here for a warm winter hat: http://www.redlipstick.net/knit/martext.html

I used Lamb's Pride Worsted and US7 needles as suggested, but found that I needed to add a ton of stitches to make an adult-sized hat!  I added an extra 16 stitches to the circumference and an extra 12 or so rows in length.  I actually wish I'd added a few more rows so the fold-up brim would be longer.

Here's my first sock, made with Cascade Fixation, pattern from here: http://members.citynet.net/cloudninedesign/pages/comfysock.html Almost done with its mate.  Cheesy

And here is "Shimmer" from Knitty (www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter03/PATTshimmer.html) made with Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece.

The lace is a little wonky and the bottom edge is loose and wrinkly - I hope blocking will help.  I enjoyed the pattern.  It was the most challenging I have done so far, and it was especially confusing trying to do the lace while decreasing!  Good luck to anyone who tries this pattern.

Thanks for looking!
