1  Re: 2009 12" Squares- December! in Crochetalongs by krafty kate on: January 15, 2010 12:57:04 AM
Ok I'm finished!!!!
I've kind of a short attention span so I started out doing 2 of every month, that went fine for a while, then I started picking and choosing....So maybe I didn't technically finish it, but it's my first ever afghan, and although it looks a bit crazy i'm very proud of it.

Sorry I couldn't get a photo without the cat, he's obsessed with it!!

2  Kitty keeps stealing my blanket!! in Crochet: Completed Projects by krafty kate on: January 12, 2010 07:17:42 AM
I was finishing up my 2009 CAL last night, and my lovely little kitten kept making it very difficult by snuggling up in the middle of it and falling asleep. In order to reclaim ownership of it I decided to make him his own little cat sized blanket

Too Small....

Much better.

He's a happy little kitty now.

Well I havn't been crafting or posting for a while because something amazing happened in the last couple of weeks....I live in Ireland and recentley a beautiful orb of light and warmth appeared in the sky! So all of us glow in the dark Irish have been out baring our milky limbs, but of course the rain has returned so I can get back to my crochet.
So I lve the super nova square, here they are

And here is my other April square.

I've fallen a bit behind. but hey if the rain keeps up I'll be caught up in no time...

4  Art college sucks! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by krafty kate on: April 22, 2009 06:37:28 AM
I used to love to paint, sculpt all that kind of stuff. I Spent 4 years studying in art college (didn't finish due to family crisis). I loved it to begin with and was so happy with the freedom we were given to express ourselves but the freedom seemed to fall away as time passed. I started drifting more towards textile based art and was being told "its not art you're doing it's craft". Craft was not a good word to them. Anyway I havn't really painted or the like since. Now I just kind of crochet and sew and stuff (oh the irony). Anyway was looking through old stuff and came across this painting, it was one I did in my first year, thought I might as well throw it up here and see what you think. Sorry fo the not so great picture quality....

Ok well havn't posted in a while, but been looking at everyones squares and they're all so lovely!   The March square was really nice but i didn't want a 3D one so i took a wander over to ravelry and did that one instead...

Love the April square, it's really cute. Usede a more muted colour to try and balance out the Neon colours I've been using already.

It will probably look like a box of crayons got sick on it when it's finished, but everytime i go into the wool shop I see another colour I like and I can't help it..... at least it'll be one of a kind....

Ok so the February square was a bit on the tricky side, but it all kind of came together in the end. Seems to be one of those squares that your really lost in the middle, but at the end it's kind of like 'Oh yeah that makes sense'
Decided to do two of each month, here's my second january

And here's my Feb one

Oh yeah, and i really love that yellow one, the pale lemon beside the brighter yellow is lovely!!
