31  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Clapotis from Knitty on: March 09, 2006 03:22:59 PM
I really like the garter stitch between the dropped stitches.  It adds an interesting texture. Smiley
32  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: panta! (from a finnish pattern). on: March 07, 2006 11:20:39 AM
It turns out it was a FREE pattern offered by Drops (though admittedly not in english). I want to say this was disovered somewhere in the middle of thread, but it's rather long to go looking for it right now as the boards seem slow.

It was translated into english by craftsters so we could all use the pattern.  Now that Drops has translated it themselves, I am pleased to be using their specific pattern.

To my knowledge, Free is still free, even in another language, so as long as you aren't selling it for personal gain, you should be fine. Smiley

34  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Uteri Stitchmarkers! on: March 06, 2006 12:27:52 PM
Thanks Diane!  I don't think it's actual sculpey.  It was some multipack something I got to make my own needles with that I just never got around to doing...dowels anyone?  I'll have to dig it out and see what brand it is.

I love them.  But do the ovaries get caught in your knitting?

If they don't, I want some!

No kidding! Those are great.

Puppymomma,
I have some sculpey I never opened... we could get some toggles and make them at the next sucky knitting girls meet! Smiley
36  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: color-bay blanket problem on: March 05, 2006 07:26:04 AM
Don't sweat it about the hook size, I always have to go up 2-3 sizes to make gauge.  If not I have to concentrate really really hard on staying loose.
37  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: One Skein Wonder Pattern? on: March 05, 2006 07:21:28 AM
No knitting pattern is entirely original.  If you wish to make up your own, you can.   She doesn't own the pattern to every shrug in the world, she owns the pattern to the one she designed. She named it "One Skein Wonder" and it belongs to her. If you wish to make Glampyre's One Skein Wonder version, then you need to buy that pattern from her.

There are plenty of free shrug patterns  on the 'net, and even here on craftster.  If you don't wish to pay for a shrug pattern, I suggest you google for a free pattern.

Ok, I agree, it's one of those circulur shrug, cocoon, type deals.
The sleeves look like feather and and fan, but without the garter line in it and it's rotated every so many inches.
I can't tell much about the rest, but the collar frill looks like garter stitch and yo's to me.
39  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Boondocks Scarf on: March 04, 2006 03:30:36 PM
That is a fantastic idea!! I love that show and know several people who would love a boondocks scarf.

I substituted a mini cable stitch for the ridges.

I really like the look of this one! What yarn and sz needles did you use?
