1  Girly/Valentine-y Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by gigglinflyn on: January 24, 2009 06:14:32 PM
Here's to my first post! Cheers!

I was given a sewing machine as a gift several years ago...even though I didn't know how to sew. It sat around, even after I had a short, two day sewing tutorial which resulted in a small quilt for my kitty.

Two and a half years later I decided I wanted to try quilting again and decided to make one for my sweetie's seven year old niece for Christmas. I didn't have time for additional sewing lessons, so I just flew by the seat of my pants and hoped that it would end up being something I would be proud to give. It was well received - Ava said, "I don't like it - I LOVE IT!"  YAY!
Details: Twin-sized
Fabric is Moda's "All You Need is Love" line
Pattern is called Cafe Au'lait from "Let the Good Times Roll"
            Bamboo batting
            Diagonal line quilting
Disclaimer: The spots that look like they might be puckers in the pictures are really just spots where it wasn't laying flat and created a shadow.

And the token "cats on quilt picture". There are two in this picture, though only one is obvious...you can imagine the trouble that ensued....

Thanks to my sweetie for his awesome photography! Thanks to you all for sharing your projects!
