1  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Picnic ideas for a picky eater? on: May 21, 2010 12:59:38 PM
So, it's warming up here in Maine, and Sam (my long distance bf) is coming to visit. The last time he came it was too cold for a picnic at 'our' spot, but the weather is going to be perfect this time. There's only a few things- he's picky(er than I am) when it comes to food, and we'll have to do a double picnic- one for lunch and dinner. For the first picnic it'll be lunch at our spot (the lighthouse), and then dinner in the park watching Shakespeare. I'm stuck at coming up with food ideas, so I thought I'd offer it up to you guys.

He doesn't like: Fish, jalepenos, any sort of peppers, olives, bean sprouts, alfalfa, and pickles (I love them, personally)

I'm a pretty experienced cook, and love to try new things- which is why I didn't want to go the usual sandwhich route. Thanks!
2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Signature stamp! on: April 24, 2010 04:08:51 PM
This is my first stamp, my signature stamp for letterboxing, which I've recently picked up. I've never carved anything before, so this was entirely new for me. I loved it, and plan on doing many more.

Carved with an exacto knife out of a pink eraser.

So, watch out for me- BluDragon-Fly!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New good-luck pencil skirt! on: February 26, 2009 11:34:54 AM
So, today, after my hours were cut again at my current job (I'm now down to two hours a week), I got a call from the local nightclub, where I had applied for the job of cocktail waitress or go-go dancer (still not the strangest job I've ever had  Wink. I looked through my clothes for something that would be hip AND (And being the keyword here) grownup.

I had nothing.

So, I decided to cut into my pale blue pinstripe material that I had bought during the 'good days'. The first time- it was too small. The second time- it wasn't straight. The third time- well, if I don't bust a stitch, I will be looking both hip and grownup.

So, without further ado- My blue pencil skirt! Sorry for the blurryness, webcam is all I have

Not too bad for my first article of clothing? Comments, concerns, criticism, all welcome!

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / For all the late resolutioners! (Once you write it down, it's easier to do!) on: February 25, 2009 06:10:25 AM
Okay, so, I'm a procrastinator. In fact, I'm such a procrastinator that put off making my resolution until now! (I know, it's sad, but January was actually a bit busy for me, and blah blah, excuses, we all have them  Grin ).

Unfortunately, do to some bad luck and a worse temper-tantrum yesterday, I lost my college ID- which means no parking in the parking garage until I get a new one. So, today, I decided to walk to school! (I only live about a mile away.)

And damn it all if it wasn't, if not faster, than about the same length of time! It cut out traffic, stoplights, and the ridiculous line to try and even get into the parking garage.

So, I've decided (short of rain/snow, as it is still Maine) that I'm going to walk to school for the rest of the semester, and I'm going to craft some things to make the walk nicer! So, here is my list:

1. Ipod cozy, because my Ipod (Fred, as I call him) hates being cold. He refuses to turn on if he gets too cold.
2. A hat. Because I really should be wearing one, because I also hate being cold.
3. I'm going to add several inches of space to my awesome, but tiny bag, as well as widen the strap a bit.

So guys, anyone else with me in writing down and crafting stuff for our late resolutions?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / My Poor, Tortured Sweater on: October 29, 2008 09:05:55 PM
So, I went on what my friends would call a crafting bender. I grabbed a sweater I had put aside to mend and well..... murdered it.

The picture isn't very clear. Basically, I cut off the sleeves, and the puffy thing that made the collar. Now, I'm out of steam and I'm not sure what to do with it. (other than replace that damned button! It will be the death of me, I swear!) Any suggestions are welcome and well met.
