I made this fun little tchotchke thing yesterday because classes were cancelled due to snow.



Inspired by old school tattoo flash and boredom.

Drawn onto watercolor paper, lined with micron, then filled with watercolor...

Over the summer I bought a desk from Salvation Army for ONE DOLLAR! I was really psyched about getting it home and giving it a make-over....
It has a really unique shape about it, with no plain straight edges around the top!

It took me a whole day of sanding, and another whole day of painting, but I finished it!

I'm really happy with how it turned out... it's currently my sewing table in my bedroom, but when I move into my new apartment, it will be the hallway table on which will probably be a mail sorter, a dish to put keys in and whatnot.
I plan on collecting a bunch of mismatched furniture and forcing it to match by painting it with the same paint.

So I've been thinking of making some inchies for a while, because they're all just so darn cute! I've really enjoyed all of the inchies people have been posting!

Tonight I finally sat down and got started on some!
I graphed out the lines on some scrap watercolor paper I have, and cut them apart.... When I started looking at some of the squares I had made, I noticed the blocks and blobs of color looked like little monsters who had taken some haphazard pictures! So, I used a hole-punch and made some eyes, glued them on and inked some details to complete what I thought they looked like...

Enough of my babbling... here are the wee-monsters:

I think the crabby looking one on the upper right is my favorite... but I also really like the one with purple yarn hair...

I didn't make many, because I just wanted to try my hand at it... but I do really like them!
Next time though, I think I'll work with more depth and texture!

Not being a fan of the warm summer weather, I made this scarf in anticipation of cooler weather!
Its really loosely done in a double crochet, and I kind of pleated it to get a bunched look, and attached a button to  hold it around my neck.
I didn't do very much planning before starting this, or even as I went along... but it works 



Button end, with only one pleat thing:

I want to make another, but next time I think I'll plan it out a bit more.... and do a tighter stitch.

I found this post a short bit back: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=311841.0 and thought it was absolutely adorable, so I made myself one!

I only know one stitch; i believe its called a double crochet [?]... But this is the first thing I've made that I'm excited about and proud of! Its my first attempt at increase/decrease and button holes... not perfect, but hopefully that will come with practice!

Oh, and the yarn is much more purple than it appears in these silly pictures...

The school year was especially rough this year, leaving me absolutely no time to craft in any manner/medium/material.

Now that I have time, there will be more crafting.

I went out today and bought a wood burner, and some unfinished pieces of wood, and this is my first wood burned piece!

All the line work is wood burned, and the color is watercolor, except for the black border which is acrylic. I wasn't too sure how this would end up, since I've never wood burned before, but I really like it! I looked to old school tattoo flash for some inspiration, and couldn't resist the subtle snarky remark on the ribbon
