11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Small Destash/buy nothing Swap Round 3 Sign ups June 15-June 19, CLOSED on: June 27, 2009 08:22:43 PM
When I was about 75% done, my 'medium' wasn't turning out the way I wanted... so I started over.  Now, it's about 90% done and I'm much happier with it.

I've got all my materials set for a 'small', and that'll be a quickie.

But, I'm taking a break from crafting tomorrow.  Pooch and I are marching in a parade, then I'm taking the family to a park for BBQ goodness and kayaking.

Given that there's still a week left, I might still even send out early (gasp!).

Count me in. I love smaller swaps (and I usually have WAYYYY too many things going on in my life at any given time too).

I've started a medium (well, it'll be a lot more than 'three hours' of work, but I'm still counting it as a medium), it's about 1/3 done.
I've got a small planned, but that'll knock together quickly.

Normally, I'm the type of person that struggles for an idea for a long time. This swap... easy ideas!

Sending questionnaire now...at (almost) the last possible minute.

There are a lot of misconceptions about 'defacing money'.

According to the law it is illegal to "fraudulently alter" money.  Altering the money itself isn't the problem, it's the attempt to commit fraud with it that is.

You can legall change how money looks, add graffiti, smash coins into rings, etc.  You can NOT legally change a dollar bill into a ten dollar bill, or shave silver off (real silver) coins, etc.

You can charge as much as you want for a piece of artwork made out of money, you just can't (legally) try to pass it off at a greater 'face value'.

I love how the red-to-orange and white-to-yellow sections add so much visual texture.  And yet, it's such a simple-to-sew design. Very cool!

Awesome quilt!
Nobody would have ANY idea it was your first quilt.  I'm eager to see your next big project. Smiley
