12  Re: I Want What I Can't Make Gallery in The Swap Gallery by bellaluna on: June 22, 2007 03:11:32 PM
I just received the most awesome package!! I love everything so much!

I have to post quickly cause i have some impatient kids waiting to play the sim's. I have officially killed my second laptop. DOH

Here is everything right out of the mailer

I love the addams family so much and i love these shrinkies. Her husband drew them and she traced..........that is one talented husband. He did a fantastic job on these. I may have to place a custom order for some more. Smiley

This is a necklace and a bracelet that were wrapped in the little business card holder. These are my favorite colors and it's just so sweet! And the small square is PMC which i think is super cool and something i have wanted to try.

These cards are going to be saved for very special people. I love geishas and i will be greedy with these.   Cheesy

This doll is a mini-me. I love it so much and my kids cannot get enough of it. I especially love how i can change out her hair to match mine.  Smiley  My old avatar had the green bangs. Check out the little packet of 'hair dye'  Grin

And finally a super deduper business card holder. It's so cool cause it has ridged sides no squashing my cards and i love the glittery circles. whhheeeee

This was my first swap on craftster and i have to tell you it was a great one. I had a great partner who totally made things that i'm gonna swoon and brag about for a long time. lol

She made things for me like she was my dearest friend and had known me for years. I LOVE EVERYTHING! Thanks ebeth!!

19  Re: Onesie dresses lots of pics *with tutorial* in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by bellaluna on: April 05, 2007 08:33:44 PM
I measure the circumference of the onesie and double it. So the measurement for your fabric will be double the circumference of the onesie and 10 long.

Iron & sew a hem on one side of the long end of the fabric. (not the 10 side)

Cut a piece of elastic thats as long as the circumference of the onesie. Opposite the hem i fold down a little of the fabric and attach the elastic with a zig zag stitch. This is where the the waistband will shrink up to size to fit around the onesie

Usually I dont measure and cut the elastic. I just sew the elastic on while its in one big strip then when I reach the end of the fabric I cut the threads and elastic at the same time. This way I will always have enough elastic.
Then take the two short ends and sew them together to form the skirt.

Fold the onesie in half (top to bottom) to determine the middle. Then fold it lengthwise to find the center.  I like to mark the middle and the center with air erasable marking pen.  This also helps me keep the skirt straight when I sew it onto the onesieno I did not learn this lesson the hard and very crooked way.  Shocked

Pin the skirt in place using the back center as the starting point. The skirt should be wrong side out and make sure that the skirt bottom is facing the top of the onesie.

After it is all pinned sew with a zig zag stitch. I make sure to go over the edge of the elastic facing the skirt bottom.

Flip the skirt back over and vwhyohlee you are done.  If I left anything out or anything doesnt make sense please let me know.  Im happy to make sense of my constructions.  Grin
