1  Clay covered pens Lots of pics in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by bellaluna on: November 28, 2007 03:08:47 PM
I broke my toe on nov.16 so i have done a lot of sitting. Can't sew cause it's my big toe on the right side and my machine is an old singer with a big button for the sewing pedal.

Anyway i moved my clay stuff to my dining room table and spent some time covering pens and glass ball ornaments. I haven't finished the ornaments but here are pics of my pens.

I also had a bunch of pens that i made with the faux abalone with white clay as a base and i forgot to take pics of them. I really hate when i do that. I already gave them all away.

Faux abalone with black clay as a base

I used the faux abalone technique with red glitter & aqua clay

a group of pens

Red glitter swirl with aqua

i loved making these and can't wait to make some more.

2  Re: Domino pendant tutorial in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bellaluna on: August 14, 2007 10:38:19 AM
Thanks Jenna Rose!!

I use both a dremel and a hand held drill. Just depends on what i feel like pulling out.   Cheesy  When i make the bail like i did on the domino above i drill a hole into the top of the domino and then use 2 part epoxy to glue a length of wire into the hole.

for the other bails i put a length of wire through the hole and then do a wrap above the domino.

3  Re: Soldered Necklace - Round one this time! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by bellaluna on: August 08, 2007 07:55:07 PM
Beautiful! I had the same idea and did it with a bracelet but yours look so much better! You got the solder around the marbles so smooth, it looks great.   Smiley

Here is a pic of my bracelet, see how lumpy it looks. lol

4  Lily Munster & her bat 2 necklaces lots of pics in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by bellaluna on: August 04, 2007 04:07:21 PM
I made the lily munster necklace using polymer clay and transferred the image with TLS.

The bat is made with shrink plastic, a black stamp pad and some pearl alcohol ink. I decided to add his little fangs at the last minute and i think they look so cute.  Smiley

5  Domino pendant tutorial in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bellaluna on: July 07, 2007 04:15:20 PM
This is how I usually do my dominoes.  Smiley

I use plain ol game pieces. I then either cover them with ink from a Stazon ink pad.

or with Adirondack alcohol inks

with the ink pads I just dab it all over the piece and then dry it with a heat gun. The alcohol inks I put a few drops on a cotton ball then dab that all over the piece and dry it with the heat gun.
Then I will use copper or pearl alcohol ink on a cotton ball to dab a little here and there just to give it some more texture. Dry it with the heat gun.

Then I decide what I want type of picture or stamp I want to use on the piece. If its a picture I will print it out on matte photo paper cut it out like I want and then glue it on with crafters pick ultimate glue. I imagine any glue would be good I just prefer this for all my crafting. If I decide to stamp an image then i just ink the stamp and lay the stamp upside down with the stamp image facing up. I lay the domino carefully on the image and push just a little.

You have to lift it up carefully cause sometimes it wants to stick and its easy to smudge. If I dont mess it up then I dry it with a heat gun. No matter what I do on the front I like to stamp the back to make it look pretty.

If the image gets smeared you can use alcohol or Adirondack alcohol blending solution to clean off the domino and start again.

It wont get the domino perfectly clean it may leave some of the color behind but its not noticeable once you re-do it.

After it is all dry then I will seal the piece with diamond glaze.

while the glaze is drying you have to watch it for bubbles. You can pick up the domino and tap it against a hard surface to help pop the bubbles or you can use a straight pin to pop them.

I only glaze one side at a time I usually start with the front, the picture/stamping side. Let it dry for a while to be sure that it will not get ruined/smudges. Then do the other sides.

After the glaze is dry I drill holes for the bail/cord whatever you decide to hang it on.

I will try to get some pics of how I wrap the wire for the bail and post them later.

If I left anything out please let me know. If you have any questions let me know and Ill try my best to answer them.  Smiley

9  Soldered pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by bellaluna on: June 24, 2007 11:49:23 AM
These are a custom that i made for an online friend. they are backed with shabby rose paper. I stamped the front with versamark and then applied pearl ex powder. So it is sort of there but doesn't stand out as much as the printed names.
