1  Re: Matchbox Swap round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by snazzlecraft on: May 15, 2011 10:23:55 AM
I rec'v the most awesome matchbox from meowari about a week ago (?) and, as has been the pattern lately with me, am late on posting the pics.

The most ironic thing about this matchbox to me is that I was literally thinking to myself (as I was opening this package), "I never get any Day of the Dead stuff anymore in swaps. I need to add more to my wists. I should find a Day of the Dead swap to join...."

And then I opened this!!

Here are all my goodies! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mexican Lotera cards!! Its a new thing to add to my collection that I have been wanting for a while now!

Truly everything is a favorite but these two things I was especially excited about:

Check out the "drawer liner"!! Its so cool!

Thanks soooooo much meowari for the most amazing new addition to my Day of the Dead collection. I hope my pictures do this little piece of art justice....it is so detailed and beautifully painted. I just adore it.

I rec'd from Craft Butterfly about a week ago (I think??) and have been too lame to post until now because, well, I guess I am a loser partner LOL.

Anyhow, she sent me the dopest matchbox (yeah I said dopest, that's right.....breakin' it down old skool). Its a friggin' mustachio'd gnome! I love this lil' guy!

I mean, c'mon, how I didn't think of combining my two favorite things, gnomes and mustaches, before now is beyond me. Here are the goodies still in their original stuffed state....

And all the contents dumped out:

I squealed when I saw the teeny tiny stamps made from erasers. I love them! And I adore all the reshaped, colored paperclips; I have always wanted to try it myself but haven't yet....can't wait to find awesome uses for them! Some of my other favorites are the googly eyes, the glittery button, and these two clear buttons that are (hard to describe! LOL) bowl shaped? Concave? Friggin' Awesome!

Thanks Crafty Butterfly. I loved it all. The matchbox is going into my new gnome collection. Also, I have yours nearly done and will be sending out tomorrow!! Yay!!

3  Re: M&M Minis Tube Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by snazzlecraft on: April 26, 2011 10:43:02 PM
Okay so I should have soo posted this like a week ago when I got this amazing package. But I am a loser I guess and didn't get to it until now. I was SO BLOWN AWAY but not only the quantity of "things" contained in the box but also just the overall crafty cleverness that came out of my partner, miss lindyv321. Okay well this will be an overload of pictures but its quite necessary in order to get all the goodies their fair share in the spotlight.  Grin

A mushroom tube filled with some awesome ephemera and other tiny, adorable charms and such. The drawing was made by her daughter and made me LOL for real. Its going to be displayed with all my gnome stuff Smiley

A GNOME!! I LOVE this guy! He was filled with all kinds of fun things. And behind him? Another drawing!! But this time, from her son (who incidentally has the same name as my son!). I am not sure why the gnome in the drawing is saying "DORF!" or what it even means but it made me LOL for real the first time I read it and every time since. It's just too cute!

Oh wait I am not done yet....Not only was there two tubes of awesomeness.....but a third as well!!! I am not sure yet, but I think this might be the winner for my favorite. I just love how sparkly and awesome it is! Its super girly and just friggin' fantastic! It was filled with all kinds of beads!!

And a wish bracelet was in the box as well. The backside of the tag says something about "make a wish, tie on the bracelet, where it till it falls off and when it does, your wish will come true". I think I got that right, LOL. I am running off memory atm. Anyhow, its just a simple yet super lovely little thing and I am ready to put it on, like yesterday, but I am trying to think of a good wish still Wink

Here is a picture of all my absolute, squeal-worthy favorites (although that is a hard task since truly there is not a single thing I didn't LOVE!!): The sugar skull fabric scrap was unexpected and awesome. I am thinking about putting it into an embroidery hoop and hanging it on my wall.

Thanks so much lindyv321!! I am in awe of this package! You set the bar high for me....I hope I can please you as much as you did me!

4  Re: Craft My Wists Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by snazzlecraft on: April 26, 2011 10:18:13 PM
I rec'd, from the amazingly talented PosiTori, the most awesome package ever. And, because I am the dorky loser that I am......I haven't posted these goodies for this group even though I have had my stuff for a week! Since I haven't been blond for many years, I will have to use my next go-to excuse and blame this on my ADD. Sorry PosiTori, I am having a douche-tacular month.

Anywho, I opted to go for the everything I received all-in-one group shot because, frankly, the stress I have been under for the past couple of months has caused me to break out like a teenager and I refuse to model anything that will be photographically documented. With that said, here are the goods:

Okay, so I will go around clockwise, starting with the mustache art in the upper left corner.

Um what can I say other than AMAZING! It took all of two seconds out of the box and I was running around the house looking for the first available empty wall space with a nail already in place. I found one within seconds and the art has been there ever since. Smiley

Next is the "tenta-kitty", as PosiTori has so aptly named this little creature. When I was stalking her I saw that she makes and sells these little cuties on Etsy and I added to my wists hoping, secretly, that she would take notice of that fact and send me one....TeeHeeHee. And bonus! I got one!! The funniest thing was that I was showing it to my mom and couldn't remember what it was called....the word tenta-kitty escaped me...all I could come up with was octo-pussy. LMAO. So my mom and I have now decided to call this creature OctoPussy instead of TentaKitty LMAO.

Moving forward, mustache glasses! I adore these and they are going to be well loved by their new owner (me!). I have decided after rec'ving all these mustache goodies that I am officially going to start collecting mustache things. Yay!!

The soft, cozy red hat is a gnome hat! It fits perfectly, looks hilariously ridiculous on me (which is totally what appeals to me) and I have been finding an excuse to put it on at least once a day for the past week. Lucky for me that I live in Northern Indiana because this puppy will get used for the majority of three seasons!

Ah, the "wristlet" as I call it. The perfect little purse for those girls-night-out trips to the bar or dinner or really any place where my normal day, clunky, oversized purse just won't do. It's the most beautiful colors and in Amy Butler fabric. I adore it Tongue

And the last two items are a pair of (knitted? crocheted?) pink and black slippers from my wists. They are a perfect fit and look like cutesy lil' Mary Jane flats when they are on. Oh and cowl! I have also found an excuse to wear this every day since I got it. I looks great with my coat and the buttons are these awesome hand-carved-and-stained-wood looking buttons....very Nordic, which I love.

Gosh everything is made so beautifully and with such precision and care. You are a talented lady, Miss PosiTori. I hope I don't disappoint with my package that is nearly complete now. You were a great partner!!

Oh and just for fun, I shot a pic of my mustache art with my tiny mustachio'd Domo (got him out of a gumball machine a few weeks ago!!):

I rec'd from Strawberryh the other day and am finally getting around to posting! I rec'd the cutest friggin' ATC (and my first too, by the way!). And I got this sweet lil' gnome inspired by one off my wists. Strawberryh said she started with an easter egg and used some type of clay to surround it and she created this awesome gnome figurine! I simply adore both items and have already found a special place in my craft room for both. Thanks, Strawberryh, they are both amazing!

6  Re: ~FILL a STOCKING FOR ME + a gift~ in The Swap Gallery by snazzlecraft on: January 19, 2010 01:03:46 AM
Well I apologize for the massive delay in posting my goodies. As many of you already know, there was a crafty grinch that stole my first package from babalina58 that she was sweet enough to replace. I on or around the 10th of January but have been unable to post pictures until now. I am in college full-time and was failing my class so I had to turn all of my energy and focus onto that for the past 8 days with not even minor distractions like Facebook and Craftster being allowed. I grounded myself from all things but schoolwork. (Well minus the two nights I went out to celebrate my 30th birthday!!). <Sigh> So anyhow, here are all the fab goodies I got from my amazing partner!

Here is a pic of the wrapped goodies and my "stocking"....a Halloween bag like the one off my wists!! (More pics of the stocking a bit further down).

Okay well here is the bag in all of its gloriousness!

The craftsmanship is hard to show in these pictures sometimes but let me assure you that the attention to detail is quite extraordinary! I mean just look at these pockets!!!

Next is some of the "smaller" goodies. Small does not mean "not awesome" in my book! These things are great!! There are three nesting tins that are beautifully decorated and that I can't wait to start using to organize some of my crafty things! A square hole punch which I am stoked about. I already have a 1" square punch but this one is smaller than that which makes it all the better! You can never have too many different sized hole punches in my opinion! There is a tiny beaded box with a removeable lid. It is so dainty and precious. The magnets that fit inside a matchbox are TO DIE FOR! I should have gotten a better closeup of those. They are uber girly and all me. A Day of the Dead themed candle. Its so cute that I am not sure if I can light it! The photo frame is too cute and covered with pink felt and has a tiny skull in the center of a felt flower. I can't wait to use it! And lastly one of the coolest gadget gifts I have gotten in a looooong time.....a digital photo frame keychain in pink...with little diamonds around the frame part!!  I ADORE THIS! I have gotten as far as putting the software on my new laptop and charging up the keychain. All I have to do now is select which photos I want to download to the keychain!  Thanks babalina58. These things are SO me and I LOVE them all!!

I squeeled (yes, out loud) when I opened this and saw a mustache nightlight!! I mean how cute is this!?!?!?! And this adorable "bouquet" of candle roses/flowers and they smell lovely!

Some crazy cool jewelry is next. A mustache necklace which I literally made my mom go searching for a chain for so I could wear it out that night. Which I did and even got a compliment on that night! The bowler hat and mustache brooch is too cute! A winter pin/brooch, a really cool necklace pendant and matching bracelet which I can't wait to wear!! No duds here! I love them all soo much!!

This is me wearing the mustache necklace THAT VERY NIGHT! It was the perfect accessory!

Sorry for the crappy picture on this next one but it was a bracelet I got and wore out the same night I wore the mustache necklace. Then I misplaced it for a few days and by the time I found it I had already taken all the pics from the swap! Sooo....I took this with my cell phone camera to save a little time.

WARNING! This next picture has some swear words in it! You have been warned!

I also SQUEELED when I saw this AMAZING wood sign that says "Fuck Off"!!  I curse like a sailor and am damn proud of it! This will be in my craft room on proud display for all the world to see! The oven mitt is straight off my wists and says "Fuck it's HOT!". It is so hilarious! And the gorgeous knitted bag will soon be my new cell phone case or mini-portabel tampon case (LOL)....haven't decided which yet!

Okay here is the BIG item of the bunch. This is THE most amazing GIFT I could have ever received! I got a scrapbook from babalina58 and it is INCREDIBLE!!!! She took the time to fill the book with pre-scrapbooked pages that are beautiful and completely ready for me to simply add the photos of my choice. I am a pretty awful scrapbooker so this impresses me more than you could know, babalina58!!! I can't tell you how special this is to me! This must have taken you FOREVER! Well I can't wait to use it and thank you for being such a sweet, kind person and such an AWESOME swap partner!! I look forward to many, MANY personal swaps in the future!! (Hint Hint) LOL!!

Oh and I almost forgot about my adorable amigurami snowman! My kids ran off with it soo quickly I had trouble finding it to take a picture of it! My 22-month old is "certain" that it is HER snowman! LOL. She hugs it and walks around with it constantly! There's no arguing with a toddler once they have their mind made up! LOL.

Thanks again babalina58! It exceeded any expectations I may have had! You outdid yourself!

7  Glittery Halloween Tree in Halloween Decor and Parties by snazzlecraft on: October 23, 2009 08:02:40 AM
I made this Halloween tree for my partner, Dragonfly4, for the "13 Days of Halloween" Swap!  I bought this cheap wooden tree in the kids Halloween craft section at JoAnn Fabrics.  It was one of those that had a cheesy face sortof "drawn" on it and kids could just color it with markers or paint it.  It came with a bag of wooden halloween ornaments that were equally as cheesy.  I think the whole thing was about $4.99 or something.

Anyhow, I already had black acrylic paint and spray adhesive and I bought black glitter dust.  I bought a  quick-dry glossy spray-paint/varnish to seal the whole thing when I was done. I used 2 coats of Gesso on the whole thing, then painted two coats of black acrylic paint, then spray adhesive, then lots of glitter....repeat on the other side.....then I coated the whole thing with a ton of clear glossy spray paint.

Now the ornaments were actually these little metal "things" I found in the scrapbooking embellishment section at Michael's.  I think they were either $4.99 or $6.99 or something for 16 of them.  Some of them had a single hole at the top and others had one at the top and one at the bottom.  I thought these would make perfect ornaments and I could add beads with my jewelry-making supplies.  I made the hooks (to hang the ornaments on the tree) out of jewelry wire and I added charms and beads to all the ornaments.  There are thirteen ornaments in all.  Enjoy!!

Ok she is done!  I did get her made in 48-hours like I intended but I took an extra half-day to get her clothes "just right." Here is a teaser photo:

And here is the link to her page with LOTS of photos!!!

9  My first poppet...A super fantastic Halloween witch!! (IMG HEAVY) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by snazzlecraft on: October 16, 2009 04:32:05 PM
This is my first ever poppet and I am so happy with how she turned out!  She is even more amazing then I imagined she would be!  The biggest thing with this, for me, was to have an extreme attention to detail on her styling....I think that is what makes her so special.  I know there are a million posts about poppets all the time but I really wanted some feedback so here she is in all her glory!

I made her necklace from a button and her corset is made from a halloween vinyl tablecloth:

Sorry for the "up-the-skirt" shot but I wanted to show off her cute panties!  And check out her cool socks and boots!

Here she is with her hat on:

And lastly, her awesome hair.  I totally lucked out on the hair....I found this hand-woven dreadlock-like yarn at my mom's from her amazing yarn collection.

I'd love to know what you all think so feedback is appreciated but certainly not demanded!!  Cheesy

More updates on the poppet....I am finished with all the body sculpting and attaching the limbs.  Now I am going to start the hair wefting.  I think I may add some black "eyeliner" as well to try and mask her slight "lazy eye"....getting the eyelashes and eyelids even was more of a challenge than I had originally anticipated.  Anyhow here she is thus far...
