1  Re: ONGOING ATC SWAP - NOVEMBER 2014 - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by psyche on: December 01, 2014 08:11:28 PM
Here's my delightful package of cards from ChameleonHound!

For my "fish joke" theme...

(I know it!! Do you? Wink)

And for my "Y" - it's yarn!! Such a thick and yarny card.

And all the letters of my alphabet are now complete! (Now just for a single alphabet card to finish the pages..)

Thanks ChameleonHound, this was a fun package to open!

I got two super awesome additions to my "Girly Art" collection during November (though I realize one is actually an October 2014 swap ATC, but I'm posting them together anyway!).

Here are my totally delightful cards from:

WiccadWitch, on the left &
KosmicGirl, on the right ("The pink earring")

I was squealing with delight when I received, both times! So up my alley. Thanks guys!!

3  Re: Sweat Shoppe ORNAMENT Swap Round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by psyche on: November 14, 2014 08:39:27 PM
After a super crazy couple weeks, I was able to make it to the post office to pick up packages despite it's hours (9-5? Really, that's it!?), AND um, yes, check my OWN mailbox, and post those super lovely festive flavours that had been piling up on my desk!

I received all but one of my ornaments, and I've decided to post them all in one big photos.

There is... (clockwise from bottom left):
- alwaysinmyroom's Burlap Reindeer (and bonus paper star!)
- Koreena's Dala Horse (I like the colour I ended up with!)
- crazyda79's Frozen Light (it matches the Dala horse!)
- goldfishpollywog's Tin Mirror Star (shiny!)
- underthemountain's Cork Tree (I like the concept of a tree on a tree Wink)
- Avesthel's knit stocking (in green stripes - it's bigger than I expected!)
- And the very first I received, Homerof2's Crochet Bell (white, and just like the ones that were on my family's tree growing up!)

THANKS To all (and to all a good night Wink)

And I am, alas, resending a few ornaments! I made a very poor packaging choice, and a few got ripped open and arrived with empty envelopes. GEEZ. (My fault, my fix! Hopefully these will be out by the end of these weekend).

Right on the money (hopefully GatorWrangler is also in the EST, or earlier! Wink), here are my item photos. I was planning to offer just one 4-set, but if okayed, there will now be two 4-sets! (AKA Cool.

A) Clay Message Discs - 2 Joy (to the world), and 2 snowflakes (Noel/Peace)

B) Clay Houses - This may not be a final product - I'm considering making them smaller and thicker. (Totally using this tutorial: http://thelovelydrawer.com/oh-christmas-tree/)

6  Re: Mini 13 Days of Halloween Round 6 in The Swap Gallery by psyche on: September 04, 2014 03:15:24 PM
My package from crazyda79, still boxed:

All unnumbered, so I can choose which to open when. Plus an extra little Frankenstein baggie with a treat in it for each day. Some of the treats may have gotten eaten early (100 Grand and Twix, oh my!)

OCTOBER 1 came in a spooky little house. (Bonus item!)

And the actual gift was... a bag of Auntie's Pumpkin Pie tea inside a BIG black mug that says "Bat Lady". Delightful! (Full disclosure: I chose to open this item first because I could smell the tea)

OCTOBER 2 - I went for the first clear bag with the purple quilty something in it (I do love purple and quilty), and it was.... a skull bejeweled oven mitt! With some batty potholders tucked inside.

OCTOBER 3 - I went for the other clear bag with the purple quilty something in it (sticking to my theme!), and this time it was.... 2 handmade (I think) potholders, with some well-chosen quotes on it. That's the witches' quote from Macbeth, and a quote about writing/cooking from Agatha Christie. Good stalking, crazyda!

LOOSE IN BOX ITEMS - I'm not sure if these chappies were all supposed to be loose in the box, but they were!
1/3: Ghostly scarf!

2 & 3/3: Some cute little canvases and a couple skeleton hands (the hands apparently should have been on the frame - next item, but I do like both items with or without each other too!)

OCTOBER 4 - I went for the loosest wrapped tissue paper item, since I was starting to see inside. It was... a classy gothy type frame!

OCTOBER 5 - I opened a festive bag today, and it was... a welcome sign! I really love this one. The combo of black & silver, spiderwebs, and book pages really snaps, and is just my style.

OCTOBER 6
- Spooky spidery "candle" [light]! (Does it turn on, crazyda79? I can't seem to find a switch!)

OCTOBER 7 - A hoopla with a nice bright skull print, and a creepy Victorian family photo!

OCTOBER 8 - A few teeny jewellery pieces. A vampire owl button, 2 tiny sparkly jars of "poison" pendants/charms (neat! I'm really into these), and two rings too: Another delightful sparkle jar (that I will have to glue back on its ring base), and a tiny Ouija board, planchette and all! I will wear these guys a lot I bet.

OCTOBER 9 - I opened the big, strange shaped package today. I should have guessed by the season it was a witch hat! (I was thinking... giant light bulb? lampshade? Lol). It's a really lovely witch hat centrepiece/table decor piece. This will go out on my main table once Thanksgiving weekend (that's this weekend here in Canada) is done.

OCTOBER 10
- Cool magnet board with Poe magnets! Is this also a chalk board? Loving hte magnets particularly though! These I think will also migrate to my fridge. Smiley

OCTOBER 11 - A neat bunting with... glow-in-the-dark patterns? I think so! Haven't had time to check.

Plus, a super cute sparkly purple spider fascinator that will definitely be part of my Halloween day get-up at work (and maybe out for weekends on non-Halloween days too)

OCTOBER 12 - A hoopla with a poison bottle and skulls! Very witch doctor. Smiley

OCTOBER 13 - A big white-board style image (including a white board marker). I saved the item in the nice reusable Halloweeen tote for last. Happy Halloween to all!

Non-hoop intrigue indeed! Here's my... um... rectangle from noodle-bug. Wink

It's an embroidered bear, set up in a white-painted frame, overset on a piece of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, with one of the most famous stage directions in theatre history.

... That would be "Exit, pursued by a bear" Wink

Thanks noodle-bug, such a neat interpretation!

And here is my lovely package from CDEeeek!

What is so dangerous inside this little box?

... the specimen is an UNKNOWN VARIANT

... there it is! Wink

And there's this lovely lacy spider hoop (I'm drooling over this one!)

And a handmade card!

(Oh, and note: the card in the package I sent wasn't made by me! I got a few cards in a previous Halloween swap, so another Craftster member made it!)

Anyway.... thanks so much CDEeeek! It was lots of fun crafting for you, and I love my package. Smiley

I think my favourite was probably one of my more involved ones. Perhaps Paul Stanley from KISS! Haha.

But growing up it was always creepy-ish, not feminine costumes (no princesses like my mom wanted!), mostly made from things around the house. Case in point - Pirate:
