8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Question: How to make tighter chain? on: February 16, 2009 06:31:20 AM
I just tried using a smaller hook to chain and it still looks stretchy.  What do you mean two loops.  Maybe I'm not chaining properly.  Is there a tutorial I could watch? I chain the first row and then I go into the second loop from the hook and start the pattern.  Each chain is one loop. I don't know what you mean by the top two.
Thank you.

I have a crochet question.  Is it OK to ask it here or can you direct me?  My question/problem is this:  I'm making scarves and my first row (chain row) is loose.  How can I tighten up.  I've tried crocheting tightly on the chain row and using two strands of yarn.  When my scarves are completed I don't like the look of the first row (chain row).
Thanks for your help.
