1  Re: FLOW! - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Jenna_Gayle on: March 28, 2012 02:19:22 PM
I finally have pictures to post!! I got the most amazing package from our organizer!  I seriously feel like I should have added about 15 things to her package now!   Cheesy

A grout picture of all but one thing (it's a little washed out, but it was the best I could get having to use hubbys phone... that I hate!!)

A huge knitted hat.  Beautiful buttons (I'm gonna put at least one on the thing in the next picture!).  Arm warmer/protectors.  These are made of the softest t-shirt feeling fabric.  I love these and really wish the picture showed how bright they are.  SO comfy!  In the yellow on the far left edge, you can kind of see where the thumb holes are so the cover most of your hand, too.  Grin  And lastly a set of freaking homemade poi!  I've hit myself once or twice, or 50 times and it actually doesn't hurt!  Maybe I'm preconditioned from hooping, but either way they're very, very good quality!  Cheesy  Me and Hubbs keep passing them off to each other and friends that have seen them are in awe!  Love them!

And lastly, what may be my favorite thing in the whole package.  This AH-MAZING knitted belt!  It goes so perfect with my favorite skirt/outfit!!!  I LOVE the 70's colors!!  And it deserved an artsy picture   Grin

(Just so you know, the skirt is one solid color... all of the waist color is the belt with the flowy string hanging 360*)

Thank you SO, SO much DreadLockLove!!!!  You are an amazing partner and organizer!!!!!!   Smiley Smiley Smiley

*waves hand shamefully*  Embarrassed  I haven't posted pictures..... until now! Sorry guys, especially LydiaHarper!!  It's been manic at work and I've barely had time to get back to the bathroom these past two weeks  Cheesy  Please don't think that my lack of posting pictures shows in any way a lack of enthusiasm!!!  Lydia sent me a rockin package that I've been thoroughly enjoying!!   Grin  Onward!

First is an awesome shirt straight off my wists!!!  I LOVE this thing!  I'm just doing a clicky with it since it has some language on it  Wink

And this super cute shirt, too!!  Look at the biddies!!  I'm glad your hubby made you send it  Cheesy

I didn't realize how dark these pictures were until I got them on the 'puter

Speaking of biddies..... she made some super cool candles out of eggs from her own backyard!  Seriously, how cool are these?!  I could not for the life of me get it focused on them  The striped ones have glitter glory!

Gorgeous candle holder with the goddess and triple moon symbols.  L-O-V-E!

As another extra she sent this cool bottle with amethyst stones!  They're my birthstone, too  Smiley

And the coolest thing of them all...... a greenhouse altar!!!

The picture does this no justice... the colors are sooo bright and vibrant!  It has a shell and poly clay pentacle, feather, fire and spirit in the center!  I've been wanting a small, portable altar to put in my greenhouse and LyidaHarper delivered!!  It's so light weight and it won't hurt it if a little water splashed on it  Grin  Check out the detail on the feather

and the spirit part.  It's sooo small, I have no idea how she got the letters so perfect!

Thank you Lydia!!!  You were an awesome swap partner and thanks for being patient while it took me forever to post pics!!   Wink

PS... I thought several of you had up and changed your avatars.... LOL!  It took me a while to figure it out!  Cheesy

Yay!  I finally got off my butt and got these pictures loaded   Cheesy  I seriously got spoiled by my seriously talented partner, Smittenheart!!  Get ready for picture overload...

Everything was wrapped so pretty!

What's that little brown thing on the top??

It's a pocket Ninja!!  Grin  He's here to protect!

Since I was talking about getting into canning this year, she sent a thrifted canning book!  I have another Ortho book, All About Vegetables so these will go hand in hand!

After flipping through this book, I would suggest it for a beginner.  It's got enough information and recipes to get you going, but not too much to get you confused  Smiley

A really cool bag... the colors are sooo much brighter in reality!  I forgot to take a picture at the house so I had to get one in the office and the lighting is something to be desired!  She adorned it with some sparklies, too!

I love all things shroomy and she played right into that with a shroom paper weight

and some awesome embroidered shroom hand towel!!  These were immediately hung on my stove!

(they'd already been in use when this picture was taken  Wink )

Some awesome dish towels and face wash cloths in my favorite colors!!!  I'm so jealous of knitters!

She also knitted some of the most awesomest fingerless mittens!!  Dude, I wore these around allll night!!  (as attested in the ninja picture!)  They were a wee bit snug when I first put them on and I got all giggly because this leaves room to break them in and not stretch out too much!!  I love love love these!!

Home made soap!!!!!  I let out a little eeep! when I saw these!!  I was soooo hoping that she would send some!  Never have I ever used homemade soaps  Undecided  To be honest, I kinda want to eat these... they smell that good!  There's also some bath bombs.  I have a date with the garden tub this weekend!  Grin

And since she's so sweet and felt bad for having to send late (which was totally understandable and you really didn't have to do anything extra!!) she made this wonderful tile necklace with our child on it  Cheesy  People always ask when we're gonna have kids, I tell them I already have one.... she just has a little more hair than average  Cheesy

My favorite picture of her!

Thank you sooooo much Smittenheart!!  You really outdid yourself here and I love ya for it!  Grin Grin Grin

I was just thinking today about needing to make a picnic blanket soon...well, before summer happens, anyway.  What is yours backed with, smittenheart?  I would love to have one that was just a bit waterproof on one side and like a quilt on the other side.  I've used fleece outside and it just gets everything stuck to it.  But I have tons of quilting cotton I could use.

Yea, it's just a plain 'ole cotton fabric... It would be nice if it were water proof, but since I have no experience with that kind of fabric I was a wee bit scared of it and didn't want to goof it all up!   Smiley  I'm thinking maybe, just maybe, that the cotton would be easier to ball up and put in a bag, too

Yay Smittenheart!!!  I'm glad you like everything and the iffy fabric!!  Grin  Before I sent to you, I had the box of stuff at work..... one of my co-workers picked up the apron.... Lordy he'll kill me if he ever sees this.....

Ain't that just precious?!?   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I received from the very talented, very wonderful Gerbilgal!!  She really made my day when I opened my package!  Our dog is like our child... really!  Now even when I'm away I can still see her little bean head   Cheesy

Everything about this is gorgeous... the knot work is just sooo me.  I LOVE wood burnings, and she is just the most talented burner I have had the pleasure of meeting.

And just to show how close she got to what Maia looks like, here's a picture of her in all her glory!

Her hair line is even exact!

Thank you thank you thank you Gerbilgal!!!!!  Did I mention I really love this bookmark?!?

6  Re: The Way of Herbs: An Herbalism Swap - The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Jenna_Gayle on: December 14, 2009 07:26:15 AM
Since I didn't get my pictures loaded Friday, I figured I'd take some good pictures of them this weekend to use instead of the ones I'd taken in my dark house... no such luck as it was raining and cloudy all dad gum weekend!!  They turned out almost decent   Cheesy

My lovely items from Rae-mazing!!

First is a lovely pair of bags to store herbs in!  Aren't they just adorable??

They're made of the perfect material, have Velcro closures, a rickrack loop so I can hang them, and she hand stitched the Lavender!!  Oh, and the buttons just give it that absolutely adorable factor!   Cheesy

Up next is a really awesome bracelet with different stones!! LOVE this!!  Also, some buttons she made.  I saw some of these on her blog, they are too cute!!  They're all my favorite!   Cheesy  I can't wait to put these to use!!

A couple of posts back I said this
Is there some sort of trick for growing lemon balm??  I've tried it 3 times and that is one plant that I just cannot seem to keep alive!  I love the stuff so that saddens me  Cry

The last thing I dug out of my package was this

How freaking appropriate is that?!?  Now I can have nice, green lemon balm all the time!!  I've got this hanging in my dining room   Smiley  She drew it herself, too! (It's really not blury, it's just my bad photo skills!)  Man I wish I had some drawing capabilities!!

Thank you soooo much Rae!!!  I really, really enjoyed this swap and look forward to the next!!   Grin

I'm so glad you like everything, Rae, and that all that glass actually made the trip!!!

Solitaire-  I'll get that recipe to ya here soon... I can tell you what it says and then you'll need to put your own judgement into it as I tweaked it both times I made it!   Cheesy  I can tell you that if you're planning on doing it, you need to go ahead and get your comfrey soaking in olive oil (I'm sure you can use another oil, but that's what I put in mine)  Get an ounce of comfrey root and place into a canning jar.  Cover with olive oil and put it in a hot/southern window (I realize this is impossible for some at this time so just put it in a warm place!).  Shake it good everyday for a few weeks.... stay tuned for the rest!

This is my jar from the first round I tried this summer.  It's in a half pint jar.

Oh, and be sure that there are absolutely no pieces of the herb in the seal of the jar. See that rag under it?  Yea, it will leak during shaking!

Scented trivets?!?  That is the most awesome idea I have ever heard of!!!   Grin  LOVE it!!!

Annnnd I forgot my camera cord today, so hopefully I will get those missing pictures up tomorrow!!

Yay!!!  I'm soooo glad that package finally made it to you!!  Ffrogg- My mom is retired from the Post Office and is now happier than she's ever been!!  There's a good reason for the "going postal' expression!!  Cheesy

So, now I can share my very belated pictures of my loot from Parallax!!

Let me go ahead and start by saying that it's dark when I get home and I had just enough light this morning to take pictures, so they aren't the best in the world...

As soon as I opened the box all I could smell was wonderful cinnamon!  I am such a sucker for it and couldn't stop smelling it!   Smiley  Her sweet husband helped out by cutting the apples!  It's also got sticks of cinnamon and bay leaves that I can use for cooking   Grin

Then there was a really lovely scrying mirror and sent me directions on how to work it!  Really much, much more lovely in person!!

And the pièce de résistance!  I actually got this in before the rest of the package.  Let me tell ya, I was one baffled little girl!!!  I sat down and racked the crap out of my brain trying to remember if I had ordered this thing from somewhere.... then I reasoned that it must be something from this swap!!  Oh, it's sooooo pretty!!!  I think I bought that frame from Michaels (KILLER sale!) the next day... and one to match it!!  It's just the right size - 16X20!!

Yea, that's my couch it's on so you know it's large!   Cheesy  It fits in amazingly well with our living room decor! Maybe DH will get around to hanging it soon!

She also sent an Autumn colored leaf garland that I managed to forget during morning picture time (it's in my dining room!), a nice pile of candy that I had to fight DH over, and her old copy of Cunningham's The Magical Household!!  I'm so loving that book!!!!!   Smiley

Thank you so very much Parallax!!!  I love it all!!!!!!

As promised, here's the pictures of the painting I received from Woodland_Faerie!! I wish my camera would take better pictures of it, but this is all I got.  It's sooooo much prettier in person!!  It's got glitter on it that you can't see in the picture.

And two of my favorite parts.  Craftster would only load one, so the other is huge!!

My cards will be going out today, also.  My home computer is still not right, so I printed them at work and they're a little slack on color.   Cry   I tried to make up for it with the paper!!   Wink

Alright!  Finally got them all to load.. had to do it one at a time  Huh

First off is a lunch tool roll straight off of my wist!  I love the wood pattern on the fabric and the wood untensils!!

There was also a koozie (I have an obsession with these things and somehow she new!) with the same fabric as the untensil roll.  Love the old school Earth patch.  Two patches, a necklace and a super cute vintage owl charm pack.  DH is going to make a macrame necklace with these this Winter!!

A hobo bag!!  This is to put on the end of a stick, ya know!  This is the absolute yummiest fabric in the whole wide world!!  This was the hottest dude on there.  I love my bearded men Grin

This picture is to show how well she lined the fabric

Next, a dirty clothes bag.  This thing expands into a HUGE bag and has super smooth tree fabric

And two vintage (I believe) paper lanterns

Thank you soooo much Woodland_Faerie!!!  I love everything!!!

Tomorrow I will hopefully have a picture of the most awesome painting EVER!!!  It's way better than the one on her avatar!!!
