Remember these little darlings? A Black Apple doll is a simple, but fun ragdoll pattern shared by ETSY superstar Emily Martin. (pattern is attached to the link below in a PDF)
http://www.marthastewart.com/264299/black-apple-doll

I have used the pattern to make all kinds of fun little dolls - elves, fairies, angels, witches, Little Red Riding Hood. I've added yarn hair, capes, hats etc.
This is an easy-peasy, fun, use-what-you've-got, knock-it-out-in-one-night Black Apple doll swap. I believe this would be round two. I think someone hosted one in 2008!

This is a 2 point swap. Make a great doll brimming with creativity and send it. Thats it!

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / I have a renewed respect for swap organizers! on: April 05, 2014 08:33:13 AM
I am just finishing up organizing my first swap and holy cow! it is quite a bit of work even for a smallish swap. I've been on Craftster for 6 years and I guess I didn't realize how much time it truly takes. I hosted a little swap with a dozen awesome, responsible swappers and no real hiccups.

Makes me appreciate all the regular organizers. Thank you for all your time!

One other thing that kinda surprised me: I always thought it would feel neat and powerful to be the one assigning partners. I actually found it a bit stressful and definitely time consuming!! I whimped out and assigned partners randomly. It was a two-point swap and everyone shared similiar interests so I was lucky to have that option.

I just wanted to post because I peeled back the curtain on organizing and it was different than I expected.  A good experience overall!

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Dreaming of spring! smallish swap on: February 15, 2014 12:16:19 PM
Anyone interested in a smallish seasonal swap? I can't wait for the first signs of spring - budding trees, flowers, twittering songbirds, longer days.

I am thinking of two small crafted items that somehow reflect the changing season.

Fun to craft, low cost, easy to ship.

Anyone?
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sweet and simple on: February 10, 2014 02:38:13 PM
Dug through the scrap bin and made a little flower hoop while I was watching a rerun of Law & Order.  I am starving for some spring. It's hanging in my cubicle at work.

Sometimes its the simple, silly crafts that bring the most joy, right?!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Little monster stuffie on: March 07, 2011 11:04:55 AM

More snow in March?! Stuck inside AGAIN I dug through my craft stash and made my first monster stuffie. I used some leftover costume fur, felt, thread and polyfil.

I believe she is a distant cousin of the Abominable Snow Monster. Smiley

Thanks for looking.
