1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / BSG paintings on: July 05, 2009 02:18:41 PM
Both my boyfriend and I's favorite show was/is Battlestar Galactica, and since is moving off to college next month I painted these for us both to have.

Seperate:

Together:

On them I just printed out and glued on quotes from the hybrid. It looked more hybrid-y then my sloppy handwriting.

Left one says,
"End of line. Begin reintegration of command subroutines.
The long view returns patterns and repetitions.
All this has happened before and will happen again."

Right one says,
"She is the herald of the apocalypse, the harbinger of death.
They must not follow her.
All this has happened before and will happen again."

And for those geeky BSG fan's who get the reference,
The first quote is Ander's saying it
And the second is (about) Starbuck.

....*snort*.

3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Gypsy Spiderweb! on: June 12, 2009 12:36:24 PM
So, I was watching the view today...(only because the black eye peas were on it and I have a total *crush* on the indian guy), And on it they had little summer crafts for kids to make, and one of them was a spiderweb! So, looking around I found some sticks, wire, and beads and I gave it a go. It's not the most symmetrical, but I like it!

And here's the tutorial:

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Band Merch!! on: June 09, 2009 11:03:22 PM
Alright, so I couldn't figure out where to put this post, so where else but Miscellaneous?!

A friend of mine came to me today and asked me if I had any ideas/ could make anything for her Bands Merchandise!
The obvious tshirts are already being professionally made but she wants me to think of "different ideas" for their merch (meaning no panties or iron-on transfer totes!)....And I am totally stumped! Any Ideas?!

Oh, and the bands name is Signal Six, which is I guess Police code for escaped prisoner?
And they are a christian band, sooo, keep it clean?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help!! on: February 11, 2009 08:52:47 AM
I'm reconing an ugly mustard yellow satin dress (think sluttier version of Bell from Beauty and the Beast), And I want to add some sort of print to it. But what goes good with shiny mustard? I was thinking maybe houndstooth *Black white and yellow always look cute* or a Red Plaid?
I'm leaving for the fabric store in an hour so help!

PS I'll post pictures by tonight when the recon is done!
6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / "A monster's serenade" on: November 12, 2008 01:24:33 PM
I am absolutely horrible at painting and drawing, but I love doing collages. So i tried making a painting with adding in my collaging skills, and I came up with this out of (so it seems) nowhere.

To the right I tried to make a woman-like sailboat, the octopus to the left as the suave serenader, to do-woppers at the bottom corner as a school of fish.

I don't know what to think about it, so i need honest feedback, should i attempt another one or just give up entirely!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Neil Gaiman makes me cool. on: October 21, 2008 12:30:01 PM
Neil Gaiman {the Sandman}  fan blades!

This is my first post on craftster.

The original fan blades were an ugly off-white with a gold 70's floral pattern.

I painted them black with a few coats of acrylic paint, cut out a few pictures from my older (don't worry, i have two copies) beautifully drawn Sandman comic, super glued them in place onto the fan blades and covered it with a clear coat of spray paint.
