1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Cropped corset pattern? on: February 06, 2011 09:34:01 PM
I was wondering if anyone knew of a pattern for a cropped corset, similar to the styles in #3 and 5:

haha!! too great!

is the cross a separate piece of fabric sewn in, or just paint/dye?
I thought the former at first, but I started looking at it and I'm thinking it's the latter.

either way, I LOVE it and would buy that shirt in a second. (I'm a lover of all things bold).
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Shaping? on: June 11, 2010 07:55:55 PM
aaahhh, hey guys! it's been a while...

to start off: I've been making plush dolls forEVER, but not quite as complex as this (even though this one isn't even that complex either).

my friend asked me to knit her a bear, so I drew up this diagram to give myself an idea:

would anybody be willing to give me a hand on this project? I'll some help when it comes to structuring...

I'm guessing I need to start off with a gingerbread cookie shape for the front/belly side of the bear, then knit a slightly bigger one for the back to make him more slouchy? and I have no idea what I'm going to do with the head...

maybe, while I'm knitting the back, I can extend the head to include the nose, then wrap it over to the front and...knit three triangles for the rest of the muzzle?

buhhhh...

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I am in absolute LOVE with this. The colors, everything.
This might even work with a bunch of tees to go for a striped mish-mashed look.
Speaking of which, I'm donating a bunch of clothes this weekend. Maybe I can sneak a peek in my bag of goodies and pull some shirts out to snip up!

That's strange. You should be able to see the pattern anyway, without getting an account.

Oh! Well, I hope they don't give you too much trouble.

Yeah, it took me ages to finally sit down and get myself to make eight tentacles. They're tedious and annoying, but once you've made about two or three, they're pretty easy to whip out.
I'm glad to hear that my pattern was easy to understand though--I can be pretty lousy at explaining things.

Hmmmm, odd, what kind of yarn were you using?
I could have something to do with the gauge.
