1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / getting started with 2 part epoxy resin? on: October 24, 2008 10:33:11 AM
For those of you that use this medium with your jewelry, what are the basic supplies to get started with this and where can they be purchased?  Is this medium something that air dries or do you need to bake it?

I dont need to be able to cast right now, but just wanted the ability to add some dimension to mini foods and etc by dipping or doing other application techniques.

Thanks for any help!

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / how to extrude clay using decorative icing tips? on: October 17, 2008 08:59:02 PM
So I bought a really cool cake decorating/ icing tip to extrude some things with and when I tried to use it the way I envisioned (sticking a blob in the triangle and pushing with my finger) i ran into some problems. I tried to push the clay through using a brush handle but it just sank in the clay.  I hope someone can answer a few questions for me:

How do I get the long snake of clay to come out the tip? I wondered if theres a trick to this or a way I can use some kind of tool to accomplish this.

How do I keep the clay from sticking to the inside and walls of the decorating tip?

Any tips from experts are much appreciated!
