1  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Woodland Creatures Swap 2016 (signups 01/13 - 01/23; SO by 2/22) on: February 07, 2016 04:13:15 PM
Love the owl!

My partner has sent already!!  Wah!!!!!  I'm still working away on my second project which hasn't fully coalesced.  I hope it works out but if not, I'll be back to the drawing board.  It involves a skill that I have little confidence in, hence my hesitation.  I kind of like the rather rustic look it has so far.  Fingers crossed.

I'm so intrigued now!  Cheesy

Pishaw - your hexagons look beautiful! I love the colours you've used, they go together so well.

ActsOfCraftiness - the cross stitch is coming along wonderfully! I'd never have known there was a mistake. I can't find it even looking for it. Gorgeous designs for the star signs.

Research project update - I managed to find a weekly magazine for knitting beginners. Each issue gives you a stitch to learn and a square to knit. Gradually you build up a patchwork blanket. I decided to do the first square as this project. Here's the cast on row. Its incredibly embarrassing how long and how many retries this took :/ But I'm getting there!

7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: December 2015 Ongoing Pinterest Swap Gallery & Discussion on: February 01, 2016 09:49:13 AM
It's a good week for me, I got another package this week!  Cheesy

Rscowtown sent me not one, not two, but three (!) beautiful coffee cup cosys. And, each one is reversible so I have even more choices. She also included a snowflake embossing plate, which is incredibly appropriate as we're in the middle of a blizzard right now.

Thank you rscowtown! This has been a great swap for me.

Now that I've finally forced myself away from all the cute animal videos online, I've decided on my items and got everything together. I'm planning to start on the actual crafting this week Smiley

I got a little distracted this week but I've made a good start and should have a bit more crafting time next week Smiley

Prompt: January Battle - The Brothers Grimm
Team: Wordy
Project Name: Red Yarn Wolf Tail
Brief Description: For rscowtown in the Ongoing Pinterest Swap, This was made for rcowtown's sister in the Ongoing Pinterest swap. She asked for a tail in red so I found 3 really pretty yarns in different shades. I used this tutorial from Pinterest, which was really easy to follow.
https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/330381322638968426/
The tail itself was really simple but quite time consuming (great for watching a movies with).
Wolves are pretty common in Grimms tales including Red Riding Hood, Gossip Wolf & the Fox and The Wolf & the Seven Young Kids.
