1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! on: April 27, 2011 10:11:13 AM
Ok here goes!!  Lots of crafted items were used in my comic book themed wedding.  I hope you like the pictures and if you want to know how I made anything just let me know!!!

Veil - All made by me.  Smiley  I even made it so the veil part detaches so that I would have a hairpiece during the reception. Used smaller version of our flowers in the hairpiece so it tied everything together.

Without the veil part.

Programs & Frames
This is the program we had made.  The cover is also what we used for our invitations.  My friend drew us a comic book cover for us based on the silly idea we had of ninjas attacking our wedding.

The Variant Cover.  We had two friends who made us covers after we gave them the idea and we had to use both.

My hubby had some awesome comic book pages he wanted on display so we used digital picture frames that scrolled through the pictures during the event.  We are re-using these as mother's day gifts for our mom's.  We are going to load them with pictures from the wedding.  Smiley

Place Cards/ Favors
Each table had a different color (red, green, blue, yellow) and its own comic book ( x-men, scott pilgrim, garfield, etc) AND each of our 200 guest had their own character from the comic whose table they were at.  My hubby is amazing and made all of these cards for everyone and figured out who to give to each person.

Flowers
My bouquet I used some bigger flowers in the colors we used for the girl's bouquets for an added pop of color.

The girls with theirs.

Centerpieces
I got plain cylinder vases from the dollar store, color changing led tea light candles, and stones.  Then threw in some of the flowers I made and put a few around the outside.  I think we made about 200 flowers for the tables and I ended up bring only 50 home at the end of the night.  I think some people really liked them.  Wink

The Cake!!!!

Jewelry
A friend of ours makes jewelry so she made us sound effect bubble necklaces and pins.  Ours were wedding related the rest were just fun action words.

And finally the whole wedding party together.  I actually dyed all of the ties and sashes for the party so that they would end up with the same exact color.  Not too shabby for my first attempt at dyeing silk.

And some random super fancy shots that I just love and can't help but post.

I hope you enjoy looking at my stuff.  If you want to know how I made anything let me know!!!!

That is a beautiful cake!  Even if it only won 3rd place... I think that any customer that received it would think it should win 1st place!
3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Geek Chic swap (SIGNUP CLOSED; MAIL BY 15/06/2009 - June 5th). on: June 01, 2009 07:54:57 AM
Just checking in... I have been MIA from craftster for a few weeks but I am still working on my swaps!  I have my medium item mostly done and I think it is coming along nicely, if I dont say so myself.  I think my partner is going to be the coolest chick at her next D&D event (or whatever you would call it... I am so not a D&D player, can you tell?).

I was really worried this morning thinking I was supposed to send out this swap today but then I double checked and it wasnt due out till the 16th.  Woot Woot!!!
4  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: I <3 Coffee/Tea Swap Round 6! ***CLOSED*** on: May 18, 2009 07:00:15 AM
Hey all just wanted to check in.  I am working on my crafted items still.  I was making a ________ and it went all wonky on me so I had to pull it all apart and start over but I dont want to send out something that is messed up.  So take 2 will begin tonight and hopefully I will be able to get it done this week.

I had a death in the family so I will be out of town for a while and unable to check the site very often and it will most likely put me behind schedule on all my crafting so I will probably be sending out very close to the send out date but hopefully on time.
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Friendship Granny Square Swap R13 (May) (signups 4/29-5/8, sendouts 5/31) on: May 18, 2009 06:53:52 AM
Just checking in...

I have all the colors picked out for my squares and I have one started so far.

This week is going to be really stressful and crazy for me so I might be able to get them all done and sent out, since crochetting usually helps me relax and calm down.  My aunt passed away yesturday so I will be out of town the later half of the week and untill then it is just going to be hard to hold it all together and make it through the work week.

Thanks Partner for posting the pics.  I have been trying to get them up but my camera and computer and internet have been fighting with each other.

Good luck with quitting smoking.  I know it can be hard to do but in the long run I'm sure you will be happy with the decision to quit.

I am still trying to figure out exactly what I want to craft. I am unfortunately going to be pretty busy this weekend, my family and I are doing a relay for life event (for those that don't know, it is a 24 hour event where one member of our team needs to be walking around a track at all times in order to raise money for the american cancer society.)  I think I will take a bunch of crochet supplies with me and maybe I can get something done in my down time.

I can't wait to go to all the tea and coffee shops to do some taste-testing!!

Ohhh to all the canadians...I actually went to Tim Horton's this morning for my morning coffee.  HeeHee. One of the joys of living in Metro-Detroit Area and being soo close to Canada!
