1  Foxy Mama! **Edited to fix photos!** in Crochet: Completed Projects by redthewitch75 on: January 05, 2008 01:27:38 PM
So, I took the Buy Handmade Pledge this year. Behold...the Best Christmas Gift EVER, or so my seestor thinks!

Anyway, there was a pattern for this somewhere online...knitty.com maybe? Being as I can't knit a whit, I improvised and came up with my own pattern for crochet. I used some great vintage buttons from my stash for the eyes and nose and in the original pattern, she didn't use white yarn for the tip of the tail, but I decided to, I think it makes it more distinctly foxy.

2  Our invitations.. in Weddings and Bridal Showers by redthewitch75 on: March 05, 2006 09:43:53 PM
Well, after one very long trip to Hobby Lobby, browsing some online invitation sites, checking out what some of you all have posted, a trip to Jo Ann Fabrics and another trip to Hobby Lobby...we finally decided what we wanted our invitations to look like. They are very simple, but nice looking, I think. Anyway, they are one-sided card stock, cream with a pearl cream border. We bought a Marquis/diamond pattern stamp, a funky heart stamp and a wedding themed stamp pack. I stamped the diamond pattern with gold ink, then the heart in walnut, as well as the words underneath, which read "and they lived happily ever after...". And I used a q-tip to fill in the heart with a tattered rose distressing ink, but I took a picture of this invitation before I did that part. Since it is just a single sided card, we bought some vellum and we will print the details out on these in a brown ink, after I do the wording and decide on the font, using Paint Shop Pro. Then, when those are all printed, I will use some scrapbooking glue to securely attach the vellum to the back side of the invitation, then I will use a hole punch to punch two holes above the diamond pattern and thread this really great yarn we found that basically has our wedding colours (pink, brown and champagne) in it and tie it on the front of the invites. I still have to do the matching RSVP cards. Our envelopes for the invites have "Once upon a time..." stamped on the flap in the walnut ink and the RSVP envelopes have "and they lived happily ever after..." stamped on the flaps in the walnut ink. I really think they turned out pretty good. I kept having all of these ideas, but I had to force myself from getting carried away. I didn't want them to be too much...or overdone, I guess. What do you think? I hope the pictures are clear enough, my digital camera isn't the best.
Here is the invitation...

3  Re: 5 a day fruits and veggies swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by redthewitch75 on: March 28, 2005 12:29:01 AM
I recieved mine earlier in the week! yay!
It is great, I got a notebook, various fruit/veggie felt magnets, earrings with plastic fuit, a sequined pear pin (although the sequins came off in the mail) and my favorite: a necklace!
the necklace:

I used to have earrings just like the bunch of cherries/grapes at the end of your necklace.
