I am stalking my partners and think I know what the thank-you items will be. I have a good idea as to what I'm sending as a giver but have to dive into the craft closet o' doom to make sure no craft item is left behind!

Oh petskin, a former coworker of mine smuggled some back from visiting family in Canada, so I have had a Kinder Egg, otherwise I would have no idea what they are. It is a shame they don't sell them here. Places like World Market (owned by Cost Plus I think) does carry some foreign nibbles but probably not Kinder Eggs if they are full on banned. It is a shame. To be honest the hubby and I steal my son's candy from the holidays while he sleeps anyway, he's almost four so he doesn't notice it goes faster than it should.

In case it is helpful, because I forgot to get this detailed on the questionnaire I have worsted weight and sportweight (all acrylic, sorry, except maybe a little cotton hiding somewhere) but the sportweight is all "baby" colors like pastel blue. The worsted weight is mixed.

I received from corduroy cat and finally got the chance to post. Can I just say how cool it was to get a box from the UK and marked "Royal Mail" - anyway, had a dork moment Smiley She made me a bunch of Dr. Who goodies!

An awesome framed embroidery of the 11th Doctor and young Amelia Pond.

A really cool Dr. Who necklace -- it looks like a silver pocket watch (one featured prominently in several episodes with the 10th Doctor if you aren't familiar), inside is a Tardis blue background with two hearts (just like the Doctor) and watch pieces for that Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey stuff, and the back is an image of Gallifreyan script.

Cool extras -- Dr. Who magnets and micro-figures (like lego people), I'd seen these advertised on BBC America (I'm such a nerd, I know).

There was also a really adorable needle-felted adipose baby but my son stole it and I haven't figured out where he is hiding it yet to take a picture.

So, it's been crazy busy in my household and I've been very MIA from all things that don't involve a paycheck or childcare but I just made it through the last six pages of the thread. I'm done with my swaps and am now on to planning my nieces birthday.
Her third birthday part is Oct. 15 and I'm going to make her dress-up items. I know for sure I am going to make a no-sew tutu. I have the pattern for a crochet kid crown but don't know if I have the time to make it. Any other ideas for super-easy pretend play clothes/accessories?

c*lientje, I ordered it from Spoonflower.com. You MUST check it out. You can upload your own designs to get printed on fabric for yourself or to sell. There are some super creative people.

Sooo, now my stepmom is (I think) buying a costume for my baby girl (they tend to do things like this on a whim), which means I'll have two costumes for her. It's okay because we go to a fall festival at daycare/preschool and then something with my SIL (it changes each year, could be traditional trick-or-treating, could be a community event). This got me thinking however, that maybe I should scrap the Handy Manny idea for my boy and make him two costumes - a pirate to go with the mermaid costume (if my stepmom couldn't help herself) and a farmer to go with the chick/duck costume my mom is making. I don't sew though so any ideas on being as cheap as possible in little man's costumes? He wears school uniforms so I don't have much in the way of cast-offs I can sacrifice.

I am now enlisted to make a male friend a Yarmulke. It's also know as a kippah. And he wants a particular design on it. I don't have a crochet pattern. I'm going to work this out one row at a time! It has to be slightly curved at the top. making a flat round circle will not do. Does anyone have a pattern? I'm using #3crochet cotton, and a steel needle size1/2.75. The designs will be embroidered later. All I need now is to get the increases spaced right.

Here are links to a couple of sites with patterns and whatnot:
