Just posted pictures of the gorgeous Tree of Life pendant that phoenixfiredesigns sent me! And now that I'm finally done with all of my finals and can actually devote time to swapping again, I think I'm going to go sign up for Round 82... Wink

I received from phoenixfiredesigns! She sent me an absolutely gorgeous Tree of Life pendant! I'm sorry for the horrible quality pictures, I'm in the process of moving out of my dorm and my camera's already packed up so I had to use my phone. Once I get home this weekend I'll post better ones!

Thank you so much PFD! I absolutely love it!

I claim leighi123 for supplies. Smiley

Hello! My name is Emily and Im 18, originally from Connecticut and attending college in Pennsylvania and majoring in Environmental Earth Science. Im a vegetarian and love to read, write, crochet, and drink tea. Im a massive hoarder and dont have nearly enough organization options in my dorm. Im a bit of a geek and really eco-conscious.

I dont really have any particular style. I love earth tones and rainbows, and paisley and plaid fabrics. I really love anything upcycled or eco-friendly. Not a huge fan of the color pink or most floral patterns. I also dont typically go for things with a more girly feel to them. I prefer things that have some sort of function, as opposed to decorative.

No allergies, but please remember that Im living in a college dorm and wont have much use for things like, say, candles. Wink

Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/willowenigma/ - Anything inspired from here would be awesome! The only boards that are exceptions are any for a specific swap, Things Ive Received in Swaps, Food to Make, and Christmas Present Ideas. The Inspiration board would probably give you a better idea of my sense of style.

-Cloth menstrual pads like these: http://www.tinybirdsorganics.com/organiccotton/clothpads.html Id also really love a wet bag for using these on-the-go Thank you klg_jlg!
-Reusable shopping bags
-Any sort of dorm-room storage options, like a hanging wall organizer or stackable boxes or something. Basically anything that could maximize storage options without taking up too much space. -Homemade soap, especially felted soap
-Mug rugs and/or coffee cup cozies
-Anything inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. I am a massive Tolkien fan and would appreciate just about anything inspired by his books. I would especially love something inspired by The Silmarillion, if anyone is familiar with it, but something from The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings would be wonderful as well.
-An owl bag, like this one: http://www.fiskarscraft.com/articles/t_treatbags09.aspx

26  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 80 Gallery on: April 21, 2012 02:56:51 PM
I received an awesome package of supplies from klg_jlg!

I don't know how well you can see everything, but she sent me embroidery floss in basically every color imaginable (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, neutral, all with different shades of color as well), a baggie of various loose threads including some metallic ones, needles, and two large pieces of Aida cloth with some pretty awesome stitchwork started. Smiley

Thank you so much, klg_jlg!! It's definitely going to be a loooong time before I need to buy more cross-stich supplies, haha!
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: Several smalls or one medium? on: April 16, 2012 08:57:39 PM
Thanks for the advice. Smiley SevsOnlyGirl, the ones in question were crocheted but they didn't take me too long to do, definitely less than two hours for all of them. But the cost of buying the thread would have made them a medium. Tongue

I think next time I'm just going to remember to ask my partner and organizer. It's just frustrating when something can be either small or medium, all depending on how it's being judged.
28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Several smalls or one medium? on: April 09, 2012 08:05:15 AM
I ran into this "problem" with a recent swap and was wondering what the best solution was.

Let's say you want to send your partner 4 small bookmarks in a swap that's based on points. If you count them as four individual smalls, that's already 4 points. But if you count all four of them together as one medium that's 2 points. So what's the best way to count them for the swap, so you don't send your partner too much or too little? I tend to err on the side of caution and count them as a medium but a lot of organizers seem to adding "no extras" policies to their swaps, and I don't want it to seem like I'm sending too much.

That stamp is really cute. Smiley So is the t-shirt.

I'm really happy the sugar scrubs got there alright, puzzler! I went and bought new sturdier jars after one of the original ones broke but I was still really nervous about sending it out!

And I received a lovely package from angelxwing! Here's everything together:

She sent me an adorable little fake mustache to cheer me up and, since I can't have real candles in my dorm, she also sent a little electric tea light in a cute house-shaped holder. She also sent two blocks of soap. Here they are unwrapped:

They don't have a strong scent, which is actually perfect because my skin can be stupidly sensitive sometimes.

Thank you so much, angelxwing! I love everything. Smiley
