1  Shiny Things (pinch pot + extruder building) in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by Pearblossom on: November 26, 2008 09:55:12 PM
Hello!

As mentioned, I had an awesome pottery class my freshman year. Two things I made:

My first pinch pot ever:

Raku's a wonderful thing.

I use it as a tea candle holder, you can see the candle bit in this picture. The metallic glaze looks awesome when it's lit.

This one was built from an extruder form (that's what they're called, right? It's been a while since the class)

It's functional.

Another view. (I know it's completely unnecessary)

Thanks for looking!

2  Picasso Bobblehead! EDIT: Link to original pic in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by Pearblossom on: October 27, 2008 12:26:06 PM
Hi! This is my first post with pics, so please excuse (and notify) me if it doesn't work.

So, I took an awesome ceramics class in my freshman year, and one of the assignments was to make a bobblehead. This is what I came up with:

It's inspired by Pablo Picasso's "Buste de femme au chapeau". (pictured here:http://www.sgallery.net/artnews/2007/08/26/old-master-modern-and-contemporary-prints-at-christies-london.html) I'm pretty proud of this one, despite the fact that her head ended up crooked when I glued the spring on, making her look contemplative and with a way-too-long neck.

Close-up of her head. Those eyebrows were hard.

It's painted with underglaze, then clear glaze on top.

Thanks for reading! Comments appreciated.
