We're going to see Hunger Games in IMAX for my friend's birthday today.  So in addition to a cool party tray I got her, I decided to make her a mockingjay pin.



This picture doesn't have the backing on it as the glue is drying as a I type.

I don't think it's perfect but it's fun.

Since I had the oven on, I also made these with a Martha Stewart Fleur De Lis paper punch.

[I learned that when it comes to spray paint--less is more.]

I saw a picture of birdcages with flowers in them in Fresh Home's Spring magazine and new I wanted some. And after I looked all over these vintage stores, Goodwill, and expensive antique shops, I finally found some at Ross.  I wanted a nice bright color to make this dark corner in my living room to be a little happier so I chose "colonial red."

BTW--I learned that when it comes to spray paint--less is more. I had a few dripping issues.

The books are Kurt Vonnegut Welcome to the Monkey House and David Sedaris Holidays on Ice (which I've been meaning to read since, well the holidays ).  I also got two owl theme books marks and a hand bound book to record mah books in.



I would have put close ups on the book, too, but Inspektor Kitteh kept stealing the frame and I gave up.
