You could use aluminum cans for the octopus and then modpodge some kind of pattern over it that way. It might hold up better than cardboard, but it is very cute nonetheless!

I love this idea. I've just started making jewelry and I went and bought some 2part epoxy resin to make some pendants and things, but this seems way easier and better for being creative. Thanks.
