1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Help! I am compiling a craft resource list ... on: February 25, 2005 10:47:46 AM
I am helping to host a crafty workshop at the Boston Zine Fair next month, and we wanted to make a resource list available for the major metropolitan areas in the US-- like where to buy recycled fabric, the great thrift stores, flea markets, where you pick up glue sticks, felt, googly eyes, or a length of christmas lights in July.  If any of y'all can help us help others out with any tips for crafty peeps, it would be greatly appreciated! We're trying to emphasize the "reuse, recycle" aspect, but every little bit helps. I am aiming towards a general listed-by-state resource list with at least one entry for each state, and larger listings for areas where there's more going on (Chicago, Philly, etc.).  Let me know where you go to prepare to get your craft on!

 Thanks!

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / question about sewing a 3-D plush molar on: February 11, 2005 04:03:32 PM
So, I sew these tooth-shaped plush toys, and I am developing a molar-shaped one:

http://angrytooth.com/product/02-05/molar.html

I think it's almost right, except I can't get the top to dent in like the crown of a molar when I finish stuffing it ... anyone have any suggestions? I've tried sewing dart-type things and attaching a shoelace internally between the top and the bottom (that measures less in height than the box-type part of the molar's body; instead of pullig the top down it pulled the two together in a way that didn't look quite right).
I have only been sewing for about a year and am teaching myself- is there something I'm just missing or is this actually just impossible to do?
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I taught myself html for this project- I sell plush toys and just got it up on the web yesterday.  Any feedback about how easy the site is to use would be much appreciated!
thanks!
