Aaaand, here's the promised photo:

her name just has to be Sunny, or Summer, or some such happy thing. Haven't decided yet, but I love her little dragonfly charm!

blurry closeup of her face, but you can still see how cool her hair is - big loops of embroidery floss.

Sunny/Summer is completely cute, thank you digitalmisfit!

Here's some photos of my goodies from the lovely Trocks:
(my roommate is modeling)

first off, a supremely useful apron made from sweet upholstery fabric - didn't get a full frontal view, but it's an apron. you get the idea.

i love pockets!

next up, a bag made of deelishus clock fabric and lace.

very steampunk, my favorite!

and finally, a hat of the 'fascinator' variety, with roses and veiling (it's a bit hard to see the netting in the photo.) Great photo - the flower print curtains, cat's eye glasses, and roomie's goofy expression really go together, no?

there were some cute little extras, though i forgot pictures of those. a little victorian necklace with the prettiest chain, and a vintage book of needles. both completely adorable!

here were a couple of pictures of the stuff i sent trocks:

she couldn't get a good action shot of the crocheted neckwarmer, so here's a medium-okay shot:

this is so fuzzy and warm - i love it and want to make one for myself, but not until it's colder. yarn is hot.

and the (also crocheted) lace cuffs, i thought they show to their best under sleeves:

okay, enough of tooting my own horn.

Trocks, you were a lovely swap partner! Thanks a bajillion!

Everything electronic hates me this week - anything more technological advanced than a fork is refusing to work for me. Ah well, at least I have sweet dotees to ease the pain!

So here are some supremely crappy photos of wondrously beautiful things (sorry for the florid prose today...):

this is a wild batik dotee from bertaberta -

crazy curly yarn hair and an amazing face -

isn't that face great? i love her little seed bead eyes - they really give her some extra depth.

and here is a swank red velvet dotee from craftydame -

the face is printed on fabric? i'm not sure exactly how that worked, but she's gorgeous. Kind of demure, but like she's about to do something rather naughty.  Grin
lots of sequins, beads, and a heart lock and key. Too sweet!

I'm going to try and get a full length shot and add it on. Keep your fingers crossed! Roll Eyes

I received a wonderfully beautiful (and creepy) dotee from freakytreats:

the detail is amazing on her wings and her face is just gorgeous!

i love her, but i think if i ever turn my back she might kill me.  Grin I said I liked creepy-cute stuff and y'all really delivered. Freakytreats, it's fabulous how you can make something so beautiful and scary. Thank you so much!!

I received a beautiful I atc from mamaedgar today:

as I told her, I was already having a lovely craft-centered day, and getting such a beautiful atc just put the icing on the cake.
it's hard to tell in this picture but the burnt-edge paper is on a standard card. the text reads "it seems as though...Icarus..flew too close when his father....fell into the sea(?) and drowned" or something like that. the text is appropriately fragmented so that's the approximation anyhow.

mamaedgar, I absolutely love this card! thanks bajillions!

Ladies, you all do some amazing work! Those atcs are gorgeous.

Here's my h card from rdhdnrd:

Isn't that girl adorable? I've never looked that cute with a hammer in my hand, but I guess I've never straddled a dog house before. Still don't think I'd be that cute if I did.

Thank you, erin, I love it!

And I finally had time to post pictures, sorry it took so long!

First is from jenicat, her beautiful sea maiden dotee with the wild seaweed hair:

pictures are blurry so you can't see all the details and beading on the bottom, but here's a closeup of her precious little blue lips:

whoo, that is blurry. and it was cloudy when i took these pictures (i live in oregon) so that didn't help either. thank you so much, jenicat, she is absolutely beautiful!

more pictures, whee!
this darling of the sideshow is from pinkleo:

yes, my dears, that is a conjoined twin dotee. is that the coolest thing you've ever seen, or what? and isn't their little heart just adorable? pinkleo, that made me laugh when i first saw it, and i'll probably smile every time from now on whenever i see it. thank you!

craftydame, you really did some lovely embroidery for your cards - love that day of the dead card!

i thought the elk head was so cute, i'ma gonna post a bigger picture:

my roommate just would not believe that it was an elk, not a deer. we had to look it up online before she would concede.

Yeah, I completely forgot about pressing those leaves last fall - worked out perfectly!

I received my F card from craftydame today - check out how cute it is:

F is for Fox! It's next to the card it came in, I thought it was so pretty it deserved to be in the picture, too.
Thank you craftydame - that fox is adorable, and I know how long embroidery takes. Muchas gracias!
hmm, I guess I should have taken a bigger picture, you can't see the fox close enough to do it justice. well, y'all will just have to take my word that it is embroidered with beautiful, very neat stitching.

I'm sad that I've received all my cards for this round - I want the next round to get going so I can get more pretties!

Here is boogirl1984's "Daring, Darling" D card featuring the adorable Audrey Hepburn:

Sorry I couldn't get a great picture of it - the card is covered in clear tape which sadly distorts Miss Golightly's face a bit in the photo. Oh well, she's fabulous.

Thanks boogirl!
