21  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Tom Turkey Ami w/pattern link on: November 19, 2008 07:33:43 AM
Aww I love that hat on Tom Turkey... makes him look so proper LOL

You should totally make him a scarf... are you going to make one that you just tie on him so that he can have two different looks or are you going to stitch it on permanently?

That's so awesome.

I would love a whole army of them to put on the Thanksgiving table....it would look festive  Grin

Is the tail yarn just a regular Red Heart verigrated? I'm going to the store later and I want to make sure I can find it  Grin

That's what I was thinking... that it would be so cute next to name cards for Thanksgiving dinner.  I've started too late to make one for everyone this year, but if I remember I'm definitely doing it next Thanksgiving!

24  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Turkey inspired by Merriven IMAGE HEAVY on: November 17, 2008 04:06:45 PM
I loved Merriven's little turkey sooo much that I had to try my hands at making one as soon as she put up a tute
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=277292.0 but a few mistakes here and a few froggings later and it started to take on a life of it's own.  So my turkey (who I named Joe by the way) is a cousin of Merriven's Tongue

I used a US 0/2.55mm
It took a few tries to get my hands use to working that small and I wouldnt recommend it unless you really want to that needle is just too darn small for this project, but I only had a 3.75mm and that was leaving the holes too big for my likings on a dc stuffie Tongue

When I finished the body/head I left the tail long enough to go through with a darning needle and close any holes that showed stuffing.  The dark yarn is really forgiving and doesnt show any mess ups TG cause I know I had them!!!

Heres an IP pic I think it looks like a little bowling pin LOL

Another IP pic because I thought it was funny One leg No eye Turkey Joe

I've never seen a more adorable roll of T.P. Cheesy

How did you make the Christmas trees, do you make them first and then stitch them on or do you work it on the project?

My five year old loves T-rex's too!   That is Awesome... you did a great job!!!  It's got a much scarier look than all the ones I've seen... which I love because a T-rex is suppose to be fierce Tongue

Is this the pattern you used? http://www.anniesattic.com/crochet/detail.html?prod_id=22258 because I know you said it had four dinosaurs and this has six... and they don't show which T-rex it is Huh
